When you have someone else to tend to baby, stash snacks & filled water bottles around the house where you tend to sit!

Try not to fret over sleep or how much your baby should/is/isn't getting. There's only so much you can do, a lot of it is luck, and you'll regret wasting so much time stressing about it! (I do!)

Communicate with your SO before you feel like you're falling apart. Talking through tears is no way to have a conversation or ask for help!

@runsyellowlites: Your second point really struck a chord with me. It's hard to not take out frustrations on each other.

Wow, I agree, this is a great advice board.

1. Be prepared for a hormone dump 3-5 days post-birth. And at this same time, you're extra help will probably have left you on your own by then.
2. Breastfeeding IS really challenging. But enjoy it when it gets good and keep at it when you feel like giving up.
3. Be prepared to not plan your day but at the same time you will have to plan going to the bathroom, eating, napping, etc.

1. ENJOY your baby! There is plenty of time for feeding/sleep schedules & worrying about milestones! Newbies are fleeting & they are always missed!
2. ENJOY EACH OTHER! Even as second time parents, this baby is new let each other find their groove & don't stress so much on each other!
3. If you have company, don't feel like you need to be a good host to them! Let them help YOU! (idk about anyone else but having people over always stressed me out so much b/c of this & in the end they would always reaffirm that I had just had a new baby & they were more than happy to help themselves/me.... everyone except my MIL) lol

What are your top 3 tips for brand new parents?
Mine are:
1. It's really hard, but I promise it will get better. Hang in there!
2. Learn the 5 S's. They saved us SO many times. DD was swaddled until she was almost 6 months old
3. Grab a glass of water every time you feed your LO. Nursing or FF, keeping your water intake up helps keep you going. I used this as a reminder moment to get it in.
