It takes a few minutes depending on the length/thickness of your hair.<br /> Pin any strays (you shouldn't need any pins to hold the bun as the ends have been wrapped under).<br /> Set with spray.<br /> And done! Like shove it under the sponge first, then spread it around the sponge to cover it...then roll down. And I have layers so I have to use about 2-3 bobby pins at the end of the entire thing to get my stragglers. I don't know if that made sense? But my point is: it is possible but it's all trial and error until you master it. I just gather up all my hair and move it up to the top of my head, hold it like your about to do a ponytail, but wrap your hair around your finger that is holding the pony, then wrap your hair tie around it. It's messy but it doesnt look sloppy,. I find that if I watch myself in the mirror I usually over think it and mess it up. So I do it, thend go see how it looks. The Spin Pin is great for a smaller "top knot" look and stays really well, even in my slippery hair! If I don't use any other item to make a bun then dirty or textured hair is a MUST. Key for me is dirty hair and teasing it. I've had best knots with a pony, flip hair over and tease the pony w/rat tail comb.
