@californiadreams: Ya I've only ever used it when parking the stroller at the start and intending to do the full tour, or when I don't have a stroller. Honestly when I have it, it's when we are there for a long time and I have diaper bag and cooler bag with lunches in the basket.. I wouldn't be able to fold it down even if I wanted to lol! I wish they had a stroller car on the end of the train.

@getjazzy: I only had the UBV on there when I was with DH and LO. so I think we put it on a seat/row behind us. I actually can't remember. But once it's folded, it fit. I only tried because another friend told me she has done it. Otherwise Ive only used the zoomobile when I'm alone with LO and we just have our Tula.

@regberadaisy: Yep, there's 4 or 5 stops spread through the whole zoo and you can use it as much as you want. Super convenient if you're deep in the park and want to leave. It is very large in terms of walking distance but not unmanageable in my opinion, as long as you don't get lost. I'm 39 weeks pregnant and took my son twice in the past week, walking only and I've been fine. Get a map when you get there to make sure you don't circle around unessessarily.

Just be mindful that the zoo mobile isn't stroller friendly! Only small umbrella strollers that can be folded up can be taken on. It's also an additional cost ($7 per person I think?) for the day's use. It is a savior for cutting down on walking though.

@californiadreams: My 2 year old loveeees the zoo mobile too hehe. I don't mind it, moves fast enough to have a cool breeze on a hot day.

Just to add on to what others are saying re the size. You can also opt to use the zoomobile. Its a tram that goes around the whole zoo with guided tour in about 30 mins. With several stops to get off if you want so you don't have to spend the time walking there. It does cost extra but I'm sure not sure how much since its included in my membership. A bonus when I go with my 2 yo LO, is that he just loves to ride it. It's a treat in itself. But then of course he actually refuses to get off the zoomobile unt we have gone the full round and are back where we started lol.

We were able to get tickets on Groupon last year but it was October and pretty chilly. It's a huge zoo and we didn't get through everything even though we were there for most of the day.

@travelgirl1: thanks!!! Is the code good till 8/31 or I have to visit before 8/31?

@oliviaoblivia: @getjazzy: I was going to ask if I can bring food in! Thanks!

Hm. I might forego renting the double stroller if it's hard plastic. Might just bring my single and carrier then if my 3 yr old gets tired I can just wear my 1 year old. Thanks for the tip re Canadian domain!

I agree with what the others have said. It's too big to really do well in one day. The food is $$$$ so pack your lunch the first time we went lunch for four was ~$80.
And the splash pad is awesome!
I've only ever seen discounts on the memberships on groupon.

Have a great time!

Oh and the "meet the keeper" talks are highly recommended if it's an animal you really like or want to see. They feed them, so if they are inactive or hiding that day, they will come out of hiding for you. Neat to hear what they have to say as well!

It is also labour day that weekend in Canada, so it may be busy. Although more people spend it doing low key things around the house to prepare kids for back to school so you might luck out. We go several times a summer and even in peak season, the zoo is so large that crowds aren't a big deal.

The double strollers are hard plastic and not actual strollers. We've never used them but this is an image I found on google and relatives who have rented them, said they are good

It can take up a full day to go through depending how long to spend looking at exhibits but there are a TON of things to see. I would say roughly, 6 hours with lunch break is a good estimate?

They don't often have discounted tickets to be honest but watch deal sites, I think they use either groupon or wagjag.

They have an awesome splash pad, so bring bathing suits and gear because labour day is usually still really hot. There's also kids zone, which is near the splash pad and aimed a small kids, there's a petting zoo component to it too.

The Canadian domain is a TREK. It's a huge hill and takes roughly an hour to do that section on its own. It's not recommended with strollers or if anyone has asthma or difficulties with mobility. It takes a lot out of you, and doesn't offer very many animals in return so I would skip it, we do.

It's a great zoo, we have an annual membership and go A LOT, you'll love it. Bring picnic foods if you can, there are lots of picnic spots to stop and you can save a bit of money that way.

We're thinking of taking the girls to the Toronto Zoo either early fall or before the summer is over. I'm thinking (US) Labor Day weekend. Is it terribly busy that weekend?

The site saids there are double strollers and wagons for rent. Anyone know how much and what kind?

How long would it take (approx) to get through the whole zoo while experiencing some of the shows and keeper talks?

Can I get discount tickets any way? Deal sites? AAA?

Any other tips? We have a 3 and 1 year old. Thanks!
