@ladybee: good to know! I was so worried I would keep making it worse over the weekend.

I feel kinda bad I didn't notice it. Now it's so obvious.

@jedeve: no problem! I was wondering that same thing when we first found out! Lo was diagnosed at 8 weeks with mild torticollis and plagiocephaly and we went to pt prob 6 times and now at 6 months it's resolved. We were diligent about doing her stretches because I wanted to avoid a helmet if possible. I'm sure you guys will do great!

Thanks all! I think his is fairly minor. Not sure. the ped noticed it pretty quickly but he can move his head to both sides pretty easily.

@gotkimchi: okay that is exactly what I was wondering. He usually does sleep on us like that so my inclination was just to ch change everything we had been doing. I'll keep doing it like that til we meet with the PT.

Our pt recommended turning her head the way you want to stretch it if they are face down because the pressure on their cheek/head is different then when they are on their back. So my lo favored looking right. If she was sleeping on me I always had her looking left

@jedeve: I'm on my phone and will reply when I get home. DS has been in PT for 8 months and had a helmet so hopefully I can help.

DS had tort/plag and did 3 months of physical therapy. His was pretty bad and we probably should have gone the helmet route. He's 2 now and has a flat spot on the back of his head, but I'm sure I'm the only one who can see it unless you feel it.

Dd also got diagnosed with torticollis and I told her pedi I was not going to do PT but I would work with her on the stretches at home. She didn't notice it when I took her for her 4 month we'll check. You want to stretch to the opposite side of the tilt. Roll a blanket also and put in car seat--our PT suggested it--ours typically fell asleep in the seat and would have a pronounced head tilt.

I have no experience with this but I've heard good things about physical therapy helping with this so it sounds like your on the right path. Good luck!

LO was diagnosed with this at his two month appointment yesterday. I know this will just be something to ultimately ask the physical therapist but since it was Friday afternoon we haven't met with her yet, and I'm worried I'm doing something wrong in the mean time.

When LO is laying on his back, he tends to tilt his head down towards his right shoulder. He has some plagiocephaly on the right side of his head.

So here's my question:

When we are burping him, or wearing him, or letting him sleep on our chests, he usually has his head turned towards his left shoulder, but is laying on the right side of his face.

Should I turn him the other way then? So the pressure is on the left side of his face, but his head is still turned toward the right? (Though it is turned in a slightly different way, since it's more chin towards shoulder instead of ear to shoulder) Or leave him as is?
