<description>&#60;p&#62;I googled &#34;safety hinges&#34; and it looks like you can just install some to the toy box to get them to open safer and not slam down. It looks like there are several places online to buy them (I did the same search on amazon and there were several different ones of different price points.)&#60;/p&#62;

<description>&#60;p&#62;We have a toy chest from when my husband was a kid. It's a great  piece of furniture but it is soooo unsafe for young kids. There is no lock once the top is up and there is no slow-down function when the top comes down.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Has anyone had this problem and what do you do to solve it? There has to be something we can buy and attach to it to make it safer, right?
