@looch: We power washed ours and left it on the curb, and someone else took it (probably to enjoy a few months of the same messy play).

@winniebee: Not to discourage you - I have lots of mom friends who are way bigger messy play fans than I am - I cared more about my kids being filthy and coming back inside, since the entrance to our garden was through my bedroom, than I did about the toy getting dirty. Also, using snow on the grill this winter would be really fun - you could use sand molds to make "food" out of snow, and that'd be way less gross than mud.

@PinkElephant: We did the same thing, I brought my son's plastic play kitchen outside after he ignored it for 2 years and he had so much fun with it. When we were done, I took it apart, hosed it off and put it right in the recycling, it worked out really great for us.

my parents wanted to get us this one for outside since DS is OBSESSED with his play kitchen. We are moving in 6 months, so I was able to defer the gift until then....

eta: don't think this is truly outdoors friendly, but it would live under a covered patio so it is ok for us

@PinkElephant: I was actually thinking about this too. Our plastic picnic table is pretty gross from just being exposed to the elements!

I think the toy grills look super fun...but I will warn you that it might become a dirtier/messier toy than you intend it to. We used to have a plastic kitchen with a grill/sink/oven outside, and ended up getting rid of it. The girls were always dumping mud on it to "cook" (and believe me, they found ways to make mud even when it was dry out). The kitchen it self was filthy, and they also got very dirty.

I know I'm kind of a grump, but I couldn't deal with the mess in this case, since it wasn't something I planned on being a messy toy. It has made me think twice about what I'll make outdoor toys from now on! :)

Does anyone have a toy grill? Trying to figure out a gift for DS2 who is 2 on Friday and we have no gift. Our kids have so many toys it grosses me out so I don't really want to get anything! maybe it could be stationed outside lol.
