For something like the sand tray I'd just want to make sure LO was done with the putting things in her mouth stage. He just turned 3 and he has played with real LEGOs, for example, for a while now. I know he won't put them in his mouth, but I still watch him carefully when he plays with them. Some toys seem too advanced or dangerous still (though the age deems younger or appropriate), while others seem like LO can play with them a year or two before the recommended age. </p> <p>I just scored a great deal on a sandbox tray. It says ages 3+, but my friend had similar ones at her 1 y/o's birthday party and all the kids seemed to love it. Hoarding it obviously. :wink: </p>
