I did it for several weeks (don't remember exactly how many) for diapers, feeds and sleep; then just continued with sleep. I used the Medela app for tracking. Only problem was when I would forget to turn the sleep timer off, I'd go to turn it on the next night and it'd say she'd been asleep for 18h!

I gave up once I stopped EBF. He was having weight gain issues, and once he started bottle feeding, he put on enough weight that I didn't need to track. That was at a little after 3 months.

I think I tracked for a week or so and when I was confident that she was growing well and peeing and pooing more than enough I stopped. You def notice if she's eating or peeing and pooing less, even if you aren't tracking! I do a count the day before I have a doctors appt, because they always ask.

I only made it about a month before it got too tedious. At that point, it was clear that he was having enough wet/dirty diapers and was gaining weight like a champ.

I use Baby Connect also and only track when I nurse or pump. I will also add height/weight stats when we are at the doctor, but that's it. I like being able to see how long it's been since the last feeding and to keep track of my pumping outputs, but I don't have the motivation to track more than that.

I think we tracked diapers for the first month and that was about it. After that point, we knew he was pooping and peeing the amount he should. I was way too tired to track feedings before going back to work. At work, it got easier to track how much breastmilk he got based on my production. Now at 15-16 months old, we track milk consumption and poops, more or less noting if he got enough milk and pooped at least once during the day.

We did baby connect, but mostly for feedings/pumping/bottles.

We only tracked diapers for the first couple of weeks and didn't start tracking sleep until LO was sleeping more consistently (it was just too hard in the early days to track sleep - LO seemed to take a zillion cat naps).

4 days because DS was tiny and didn't have any weight to lose so he had to gain gain gain. He gained back his birth weight the day after we left the hospital so I quit tracking then. I just made sure he had enough wet diapers mixed with some poo diapers in there.

Thanks, guys! It IS nice to see any "patterns," mainly with nighttime sleep patterns...but I think I'll bring it down a notch. Instead of tracking times on each breast, exact times of diapers, etc., I might just keep generalized notes!

I stopped tracking once I knew my baby was gained weight correctly - probably around 4 weeks. So, if you want to stop, by all means! I actually started tracking again with app at about 8.5 months because we wanted to start sleep training and I wanted to be able to track feedings/solids meals and naps to see what correlated to a good night. Once DD started STTN, I stopped tracking. I actually find tracking to be more stressful than not, but only you can know what works best for you.

I still track sleeping and eating, but not diapers. I just can't keep anything in my head anymore and I always forget what time she ate, or what side I started on, or what time she went to sleep or woke up. I follow her cues, but it's still helpful to me to figure out why she is fussy-- like, Oh, it's been almost 3 hours you must be hungry, or Hey, you've been up for an hour and a half, time for a nap.

I use the free Similac app. It's not really necessary but I like it.

ETA: she is 4.5 months.

I guess for me, it's helpful, because I can look at it and go "Oh, Xander's due for a nap soon!" or "Um, no, you can't give him Tylenol - it's only been 2 hours!"

Drop it if you find it tedious! We stopped doing pee/poop after about 7 days old because we felt confident he was having enough. I still use the Baby Connect app to keep track of feeding, helps me know which was the last side LO fed on and also helps remind me how long he has been awake so we don't keep him up too long. (I'm a numbers person.) But it sounds like you guys are on the right track and I say you stop, it will make you feel much more relaxed :)

I think I lasted 4 weeks? I stopped after his one month check up when the pediatrician said everything looked good and he was gaining weight well. I kinda kept track of feedings, just so I would know if it has been too long between feedings, especially since we had issues with weight gain in the beginning.

So, I've been trying to keep track of all of our feedings/changes (6 weeks on Wednesday). At first it was helpful because we were supplementing and seeing LCs to gauge our progress in switching to EBFing. We've since been able to drop all supplementation and are just BFing.

Keeping track of the times/sides/poops/pees is getting...old. :/ How long did you track this kind of stuff for? How detailed? Is it worth it to keep going or can I drop it all and just follow LOs cues (I know I CAN do this, I'm just wondering if there's a benefit I might be missing at this point!)?
