@jholler25: I have her post prego DVD (i bought it before i was pg bc it has awesome ab exercises) and it's legit. I like her style because she's mellow and I prefer high reps and lower weights.

Now, I also workout to the physique 57 DVDs, which have 3 30 min workouts in addition to 4 60 min workouts. The 30 mins are perfect for those "I'm too busy to workout" days....and the workout is HARD. :)

I've done a lot of workout DVDs and Tracy Anderson's are probably the ones I hate the most. I find all of the moves unnecessarily complicated and like someone else said, they are way too long to be able to fit into a busy person's schedule. I love love love all of Jillian Michaels workouts and I would recommend all of her DVDs. They are fast, they are super effective and I think she's way more likeable as a trainer/motivator.

I'm glad to see that Tracy apologized about her earlier comment this week where she said "a lot of women use pregnancy as an excuse to let their bodies go". I read that and was like "f off lady". Believe me, I would love nothing more than to have my pre-baby body back, It's literally impossible for me to find time to work out right now (my son is 5 months). I barely have time to eat and sleep. My baby is a bigger priority than a few extra lbs and I think a lot of other women feel the same way.

I'm 5 feet tall, so unfortunately any weight I put on is not flattering. Something to remember is that you are going to be in pain after you deliver and you won't be able to resume a real gym routine for awhile. Just remember to be patient with yourself, you will lose the weight it just may take a little longer than you thought, or maybe not. You may want to invest in some cute stretchy clothes to wear after birth so you can still feel cute eventhough you may not be your ideal weight right away.

I think it's totally feasible, especially if a healthy weight is gained. My close girlfriend lost all 26lbs she gained in a month, without doing much other than breastfeeding. So I would suggest hoping for the best, but giving yourself a little leeway. Your body and your baby will dictate how much you can do early on. Don't forget this was her second baby, so she knew what she was in for and was probably very relaxed. If you're stressed about baby and stressed about your body, it will be taxing on your body. So if it takes you a few weeks to be ready to work on it, give yourself that time. But trust me, if you want the baby weight off, I know you will get it off. It might take a lot of hard work, but you'll do it!

Interesting, I might have to invest! Granted I am 20 months post partum, but I finally have consistent time during naps!

@jholler25: I think it was maybe only 45-50 minutes but to do that every day with a baby? I just didn't have the time but you sound uber motivated so I'm sure you'll do it! LOL. 45 minutes really doesn't seem like a lot when you don't have kids but somehow the day disappears once the baby comes!

@jholler25: Yes, I was really surprised because of my eating habits I am not normally one to naturally loose weight. If I eat like 1 bowl of ice cream or a few chips I think I gain 5 pounds. After baby it just seemed to change and it got better.

My husband is also thin and of course he picked after the baby to start going to the gym and getting all ripped. Its been tough because even though I'm at my lowest weight in a long time (back to my high school weight from 10 years ago), my body is so different and I have a lot of extra skin on my belly that is just going to take time to go back to shape.

Kinda like pregnancy and labor try to keep an open mind to what may happen. You will have a lot on your plate, maybe you will feel up to working out, maybe not. You may have a complicated delivery and it may be even more than 6 weeks before you can work out (i hope not but it does happen).

I wish I had talked to my husband more about my changing body post baby more. I think it would have helped him and I have some expectations and for him to be able to support me when I wasn't feeling great about myself. One thing he did do that I love him for was taking me out to buy new jeans when I couldn't wear maternity jeans any more but wasn't back to my regular jeans yet.

@Thehistoryofus: My body will not bounce back without going to the gym...I'm not a naturally thin person, it always requires tons of manual labor! I think I will have a really hard time with my self esteem after baby...I am always really hard on myself. I'm really trying to be realistic, but then I see stories like this and makes me say "Maybe I can do it!" I'm pretty scared. Especially because DH is a brick shithouse and works out all the time - that puts pressure on me to stay fit, even while preg or having just popped out a baby, because I have an immense fear of being his "fat wife" while he's all ripped and ridiculous. I really wish he would let himself go a little so that I wouldn't feel so pressured.

@Andrea: Ohhhhhh!!! I thought it was only like 40 or 45 mins....But I have been spending over an hour at the stupid gym 4x a week, so that didn't sound that bad to me to not have to drive anywhere and then have less than an hour in the living room. But maybe it's her preg dvds that are 40-45 mins...I need to look...

I'm probably dreaming. I just stare longingly at my size 2 clothes and am scared to death I'll never get back into them.

@Beebug: Totally agree with you! I am most worried about being sleep-deprived. I cannot function on less than 8 hours of sleep. So we'll see!!!

Keep up the great work but also know that sometimes your body is going to do what it needs to do. I lost all my pregnancy weight within 6 weeks and didn't diet or do any exercise (but was EBFing). Since then I started weight watchers and am well below my pre pregnancy weight.

Just be prepared that even with all the work outs and diets those first few weeks and months you will be a new mommy and its ok if you try your hardest and its not getting the results you expected. Life changes SOOOO much after a baby (your body is different, life is different, your emotions are different).

I have her post preg workout DVD but I hardly ever used it. If I remember correctly, it was sooo long and she said to do it like 5-6x a week to get the results. I just thought it was ridiculous and I didn't have that amount of time so I didn't use it very much! Maybe I'll use it after this pregnancy. LOL.

I will have ridiculous expectations of myself with you!

But we'll see what actually happens post-baby! I plan on easing back into my normal routine (swimming, running, kettlebell workouts, and just using my body as weight resistance), but coming off an injury, and baby know I will have to take it slow.

I saw on tv last night that Tracy Anderson, Gwyneth Paltrow's trainer, lost all of her baby weight in 6 weeks. She gained 30 lbs, so a healthy weight gain, and she claims that she worked out during her whole pregnancy doing her pregnancy dvds, The Pregnancy Project - which features 9 workouts, one for each month of pregnancy (doesn't get released until Oct):
http://tracyandersonmethod.com/interspire/products.php?product=Tracy-Anderson%3A-The-Pregnancy-Project

Then she says she's been doing her post preg workout, which has crazy good reviews on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Anderson-Method-Presents-Post-Pregnancy-Workout/dp/B001F2APHU

So I thought her story, while annoying and making me terribly jealous, was inspiring. I have read about her "method" before and it's pretty interesting because she's very different from say, a toughie like Jillian Anderson. Her workouts are very high reps with very low weights (no more than 3 lbs).

She motivated me to REALLY try to stick with my workouts until the end! She stressed how that was the difference-maker between this pregnancy and her first pregnancy where she gained 60 lbs and then struggled to lose the weight. It may just be wishful thinking on my part, but her story may keep me going!

I am definitely interested in the post baby dvd....Anyone tried it or plan to try it?

Oh and fwiw, I know that I have totally ridiculous expectations of myself. But I can fantasize!
