We went with the Imaginarium train table from TRU since it includes the tracks and a few trains. I also agree not to glue down because my kids love configuring the tracks. We keep extra tracks and trains in bins under the train table. </p> <p>We have a Melissa and Doug table with chairs. We have a small kid sized table and chairs from Ikea that I got DS for his 2nd birthday. He eats there a lot and has also done arts and crafts and played with stickers and play doh.</p> <p>Then last week, we got him a massive train table (the Thomas one) for his third birthday and he loves it. The pieces are not glued down, but they stay there - so it basically stores all the tracks and trains. He has to stand to play as the kid chairs would be too small, so i see the 2 tables as totally different purposes and functions. Also because the train table was so expensive, i wouldn't want him eating or doing crafts there for fear of ruining it! We have DH's old collection of Brios that we keep in a file box. It's not really a great solution. DH mentioned last night he wants to get DS a train table so it's easier to play with them. It would nice to have a better way to store them, too.</p> <p>But I would also like to get him a small play/craft table where he can color, play with sticker books, etc. It seems silly to buy two tables, but I can't find any one table that looks like it will do the job of both. </p> <p>Anyone have any suggestions? Should we just buy two tables? </p>
