Nope. I have an ortho physio in my family and she has scared me off of trampolines for life. I've also seen some pretty nasty accidents from my friends' kids. I guess even more of a risk than falling off is when several children are on the trampoline at once and collide into each other.

ETA: I'm okay with the mini indoor Little Tikes trampoline...it's the big outdoor ones that really scare men

Oh I'm sure they're just an injury waiting to happen, but so is just about everything else my kids play with.

We have one, with a net.

Did not read all above answers but I work in pediatrics and take care of a LOT of kids with injuries (in particular arm fractures) from trampolines. So in our house there will never be a trampoline. To be fair, kids find many many ways to injure themselves. ;)

Our homeowners insurance won't cover us if we have a trampoline, so no trampoline for us.

We have a little tikes one inside that I feel is plenty safe (at least as the stairs). For a big outside one, no, makes me too nervous. But I let her play on one at her friends house.

As a teenager I really really wanted one, so my mom made me ask our pediatrician about it. He said absolutely not, he would not recommend it, no way. So yeah I never had one either.

We have a small, one person sized trampoline in the house and I feel like it's perfectly safe, with supervision. I would not get anything larger than that one though.

We had one growing up, but as a parent I really don't want one ever. MIL almost bought one for Christmas this year, thank goodness she mentioned it to DH first because he shut her down quickly.

DD (2) is getting the little tykes mini trampoline this year for her birthday. It will only be out when we can supervise her. I'm a little nervous even with the mini one but we are trying it.

I will never have a full size trampoline on my property - not worth it from an insurance perspective and my father, an attorney, would have a heart attack.

I have so many wonderful memories from the trampoline we had as a kid - we LOVED it and no one ever got so much as a scrape or a bruise, despite the absence of a net or any kind of safety feature. At the same time, the small risk of something terrible happening kind of freaks me out now that I'm an adult. So IDK, tough call...

I'm torn on this, but slightly leaning towards getting one next year. Dd1 wants one, and I have some great memories of the one I had growing up, and of running out to it barefoot through the frost on the Christmas morning that we got it. I am really concerned about the safety issues though, but I've seen online where people sink them into the yard. So I'd like to do a little more research on that before we decide one way or another.

We got DD who is 4 one for Christmas, it's a big one, has a net/all the safety features, ect. As long as we are out there with her I have no fear. I grew up with one and some of my favorite memories are us on that trampoline.

I'm scared of trampolines. Someone I grew up with had an accident on one at 17 years old and had a near fatal accident. He survived the accident but became a paraplegic. He was jumping with his brother and they fell off with the brother landing on him.

If you must have a trampoline, make sure you have a net and only let one kid jump at a time.

From an insurance standpoint some home carriers will not extend you coverage at all or they may still offer you liability insurance, but it will exclude the trampoline exposure. I don't know the data behind the risk, but to me it sounds risky.

We have been thinking about get our almost 4 year old a trampoline for Christmas - a pretty small one with a net and all the safety features. But when I mentioned this to FIL and some other people, they freaked out about how dangerous they are. I know that the AAP came out against trampolines lately but I am wondering if it the warnings are a little overboard for a child's small trampoline. What do you all think about trampolines and their safety?
