@cake2017: Yes I thought I'd be sad but I am very happy to be done breastfeeding!!! well, I sort of had no choice (low supply, he was uninterested, etc).
I have yet to find a good video monitor. I definitely can't see him close or even see him breathe! We go in and check a lot still lol.

@pachamama: I’ll look into it. It’s hard to wean. I was sad with my first after 18 months. I stopped because I found out I was pregnant with LO2. Then after weaning I was happy to not be breastfeeding lol.
We have a basic video monitor but I feel like I need something that’s closer. I can hear and see her but I can’t see her face or close up if that makes sense. I don’t know if I need one like that but I just want to be able to hear and see over night.

@cake2017: That's good she does naps in there! We did that for my 2nd too, such a lifesaver to have him nap in peace. I use a Himalayan salt lamp covered with a shirt so it's slightly dark for bottle time (I just stopped nursing :-( ), then super dark for him to sleep. And yes I'm paranoid... I use a video monitor and check it constantly- the Axvue one from amazon. Chinese crap but has worked pretty well- we needed on with 2 cameras for the boys' rooms.

@pachamama: I’m going to start a routine now. We have her in there for naps. I just ordered a yellow night light or something like that lol. I nurse at night and would like to see alittle. Do you have a baby monitor?

I am a big believer in separate rooms, I think everyone sleeps better. TakingCaraBabies does a whole post on transitioning to the crib, like moving the bassinet into her room for a while, then moving it closer and closer to the crib or something. We just went cold turkey- did the same nighttime routine then put him in there. DS1 it went great, DS2 wouldn't sleep on his back and couldn't put himself to sleep so he was a disaster (he CIO at 6 months and now sleeps great in his crib).
Make sure it's super dark (babies aren't afraid of the dark til they have imaginations, around age 2 or 3), and lots of white noise!
I would add a book now to the bedtime routine, then read the same book once she goes to the crib, following the exact same routine! and stay calm, she;ll sense youre nervous! Good luck!

Hi!

LO2 naps in her room in the crib during the day. How can I have her sleep in there at night? She seems to flip out towards the end of the night.

Should I just continue the eat, play, sleep but add reading etc at the end and put her down????

She goes down for her last nap at 415/430pm and LO1 goes to bed by 630pm.

She currently sleeps in our room in a bassinet now and is in it for the night no later than 730/8pm....

Just trying to get her in there as I return back to work in January and I won’t be able to get ready etc w/ out waking her and DH up. It’s best she’s in there by 5 month but trying to get into routine by 4 months. I plan to continue to nurse through the night until we sleep train. I understand a regression may come so I may do it then.

Any suggestions?- pointers? thx!
