We started a sippy of water when she started solids so she could get used to it, then went cold turkey to only sippys at 12 months. It took her a day before she got used to it and drank a good amount of milk from it.

I was thinking maybe a sippy cup with a straw might help with milk? He drinks it too fast out of a regular sippy cup and then chokes.

Ooh...commenting on this thread! We just introduced the sippy cup this week, and so far, LO isn't liking it too much.

We introduced the sippy at 6/7 months and started transitioning out the bottle at 11 months; a month later he's down to just his bedtime bottle, which we hope to do away with in the next month or so. What about a straw sippy for your Lo's flow issues? Sometimes DS chokes on his bite valve sippies (when the milk comes too fast) but never on his straw sippy.

When did people start transitioning their LOs from bottles to sippy cups? LO currently only drinks water from sippy cups. I tried giving him his milk in the sippy but it came out too fast. He's a slow nipple kinda boy. Also, any recommendations on sippy cups for my slow nipple flow boy?
