She went from crib to queen, because we already had the bed in her room anyway. It was nice as someplace to lay down with her or sleep with her when she woke up at night.

When we moved we switched her to a full and put the queen in the guest room. She had no trouble switching either time.

We plan on transitioning to a twin because DD's room isn't that big and there won't be space for her to play in there if we have a bigger bed.

My older one went to a queen no problem. We already had the bed. We used bed rails for a little while.

Now we need them to room share so we got the IKEA daybed and everyone loves it. It's cozy, it seems bigger than a twin (though it is one) since you can go all the way up to the back edge, and it has huge storage underneath. And looks nice!

The major advantage I see of a big bed is being able to lay down with them, and using it for company. But the daybed is super fun and at IKEA prices we can give it away when they all outgrow it. Also it's a super fun reading spot for the whole family.

We went straight to a full since we already had one. No problems and he loves having all the space to sprawl out in.

DS went to a twin floorbed in a Privacy Pop tent. He loves the cozy cave aspect of it. It's full of his plushies and a big plush body pillow and soft cozy blankets and he makes a little nest in there for himself.

We also went from crib to full (crib converted)

She was a wiggler and to prevent her from falling out we used pool noodles on both sides which actually makes the bed smaller and more cozy - add some stuffed animals for extra coziness :silly:

So, after you moved from a toddler bed what did you move LO in to? Day bed? Twin? Full? Queen?

DD has been in her Toddler Bed for over a year now and I think in the next 6 mos she will be ready to move on...so I am trying to start thinking about what I want to put her in.

I think she may be a bit overwhelmed by a queen or full...just bc she is so used to a smaller space. We have a second DD so we have someone to pass all this stuff down to and get plenty of use out of - therefore I dont mind buying a twin - then moving her to a full/queen in a few years.

I am leaning towards a daybed for a twin...seems like an easier transition from toddler...

Bonus for pictures of your kids space! :)
