With LO1 we just suffered through a night or two of rough sleep as he got used to it. That didn't work with LO2, so we went to the Merlin Suit as per the recommendations on here. Worked well for us for a good month or so before he rolled in it, and by then he was more used to the flat thing.

@lilyofthewest: I actually used the towel trick in the crib to also get LO to sleep on a certain side, she preferred her right so I would put it behind her so she kind of had to sleep on her other side, I think she also like the snug feeling

@mrsjyw: @Canoli: @Bubbles: OK! Trying this later today or tonight!

@youboots: @Boopers: Hmmm, LO can already roll, and strongly prefers to sleep cocked to the side, so I hope the towel trick works.

You can use some books under the legs of the cot to raise one end slightly. When I moved DS from the Moses basket I also put a rolled up blanket under his sheet in a sort of horse shoe shape around his lower body, to make him feel more contained.

We transitioned LO out of the rock n play using the Merlin Sleep Suit. He didn't like to lay flat and kept breaking out of swaddles. It's been the one consistent thing that has helped him sleep both during naps and overnight.

Use a rolled towel underneath the crib sheet to provide baby a "snug feeling" similar to the rock n play and swing, we used that for a week or two during our crib transition w ds1.

I've heard lots of people have had success with a Merlin Sleep suit. My girl rolled in hers in 2 days so it did not work for us.

I need help getting LO to sleep in the crib.

LO is a few days shy of 3mos. He currently bedshares with us overnight. He naps in the swing or in a rock-n-play. He usually also spends his first bedtime sleep stretch in the rock-n-play, then comes into our bed at his first wake-up.

He's starting to get pretty smushed in the rock-n-play, and he's starting to get more mobile, so, we need to get him sleeping in the crib sooner rather than later.

Problem is that he often wakes up immediately if we try to put him down on the flat crib mattress, or he sleeps fitfully and wakes up much sooner than he usually does in the rnp.

Any tips for getting him to sleep in the crib? Or leads on a hammock-y bed similar to the rnp for bigger babies?
