DD was not having it. She drank water from a cup just fine but refused to drink milk in a cup. So we took it slow. At 12 months, I started offering her milk in a cup during mealtimes just so she gets use to it (in addition to her morning and night time bottle). At first she refused to drink any milk out of the cup but eventually she started drinking an ounce or two. Finally at 15 months I took away her morning bottle and gave her a cup instead and she drank it all! Prior to that she would push the cup away. So for us, we didn't rush it and now she drinks milk from a cup like a champ. We're also experimenting with offering formula with dinner. We're now off of formula completely, but he still gets 1 bottle a day of whole milk around bedtime or else he gets very upset. I know I'll regret this one day lol. I eliminated one bottle a week and just replaced it with a cup of BM. Once he was completely on cups, I then transitioned to Hemp Milk by mixing the two.</p> <p>We rarely offer Xander water, simply because he doesn't drink enough milk as it is, so I'm always offering him milk both with meals and in between. But when we do give water, it's in the same type of cup (or even the same cup). Some days she hardly drank anything. So we would give her pedialyte at night. She stole a sippy cup from a friend at day care, so we bought those and she did MUCH better then with a straw cup. I think cause she could hold it like a bottle.<br /> Now we have to give her milk after she eats, cause otherwise she will drink the whole cup and not eat cause she fills up on milk. We also used the same cups for water or milk. Once she finishes her milk, we rinse it out, and fill with water. LO is 11 months and FF so we are looking to have her drinking formula from a cup soon and then WCM in a cup in a few weeks.</p> <p>Is it better to go cold turkey and just start one day with all milk/formula in a cup from then on or give the first milk of the day in a cup and the rest bottles until she gets it? </p> <p>Also did you use the same cup(s) for milk and water or a different type for each so LO isn't confused...or do they not get confused? </p>
