At our daycare, the parents are more or less required to stay with the child for a few hours each day for the first week or two to help them ease in. My LOs started at 2 yo and 13 months and it was a tough transition for both of them. It took DS about 3 weeks to stop crying every day and DD about a month.

My daughter started daycare around 3m and prior refused to take a bottle from anyone. I was the only one that could get her to nap.

Day one of daycare? Took all her bottles like a champ and napped like a champ.
Mite like they know it's daycare? Don't wanna eat? You'll starve. Don't wanna sleep? Cry for a bit. No mommy to the rescue!

The only potential hard part is LO is 9m now and DH saids there's a bit of crying at drop off. But she's fine shortly after he leaves.

@msplatypus: Commenting to follow! This will be our situation also - DW works at a university and DS will be 9 months when he starts daycare (NEXT August - he is due in November). :) I am sure your transition will go smoothly but I would love to hear from others about their stories!

I would love to hear stories about los transition in to daycare and any tips people have. Our baby will be 9 months when she starts day care in August and I'm so scared. She's going to an infant room at a facility I love. I'll be going back to full time work, I was part time since maternity leave and I have summer off because I work at a university. I'd love to hear all stories about the transition, I think eating and sleeping are my biggest stresses.
