We use sleep sacks now and especially like them now that it's getting colder. My friends used a sleep sack till their son was 2.5 and moving into his big boy bed, so I'm thinking at least we won't have another transition anytime soon. And since the sack gives them more freedom to move, I don't think the transition will be as difficult when it does happen.

We use a sleep sack and it is for warmth as much as anything else. He can and does sleep without it but his room is too cold lately to be without. Right now I think it's also preventing him from standing in his crib too much so that's also a win for me.

We used and loved sleep sacks. And they are easy enough to use that they should never really be a negative for you, i.e. disrupting her sleep in any way?

@Mae: I say yes. It's nice to have that extra layer without worrying if she's cold. We only stopped using it when she started walking in the crib and tripping on it and I didn't want to buy even more in another size or style, but now that it's cold again I wish she still wore one.

We still use sleep sacks now, and LO is 15 months. It gets COLD in our house at night and we have a winter weight sleep sack from Ikea, as well as a Baby Deedee (I prefer the Ikea one, actually). Even in the summer, we put her in a cotton sleep sack because we still have the AC on and we sleep under blankets, so we figure she needs the same layers.

So we went from swaddle to Merlin, and now I think we'll be out of the Merlin before Christmas. LO has just about figured out how to roll in it!

So anyways, when you were done with those types of baby sleep aids... did you use a sleep sack?

On one hand I sort of don't want to because I'm sick of having a "she won't sleep if she isn't wearing this thing" thing and I don't know that the transition out of merlin would be better with a sleep sack than without.

But it's cold! I worry that just putting her in a sleeper won't keep her warm enough this winter.
