@MrsKRB: No, sorry, we had him in a Halo Sleepsack since literally Day 1. Then the Zipadee zip, then he started rolling, then we tried to half zip it one night which he didn't like, so we went cold turkey. Sleeping on his stomach changed our lives! He sleeps so much better on his tummy. He went from waking every 3-4 hours (EBF) to 7-1 or so. It was awesome.

My DD was the same as @PawPrints: -- We went straight to just PJs after the Merlin and it went fine. But my girl was dying to sleep on her belly by that time, so I think that was why.

We did it cold turkey. I don't remember if we had any rough nights, but if we did it wasn't for long. She pretty smoothly transitioned to sleeping in just pajamas.

We just did it cold turkey.. I think she was in the suit till close to 7 months and she hates anything else. It wasn't as bad as I thought! We co-sleep, so she came out of the suit and I laid with her and she learned to fall asleep on her own too at the same time.

It took us two attempts to get out of the Merlin. The first time we tried it was AWFUL. I finally had to put her back in the Merlin at about 2am on the second night of no sleep for anyone. She just wasn't ready. We waited another two months or so after that and the transition was no prob. She went to bed like normal with no issues. Good luck. I remember posting my own HELP post at that time.

@MrsKRB: they can be in the zipadee after they can roll, I believe, so I know a lot of people who use that after the Merlin! We're just entering Merlin phase here (or trying to...)

We went to a zipadeezip too. He did great transitioning and we kept him in it for a long time - probably until he was 2 and could unzip it himself. Now he's just free, which has its cons (climbing!)

@Littlebit7: that's what I was afraid of! Thanks'

@pachamama: you switched from the sleep suit to the zipadeezip? Did he still around in it? I think that's the biggest problem, she's not used to sleeping on her stomach. How was the transition out of the zipadeezip?

We had great luck with the Zipadee Zip! At 5.5 months or so we just took him out of it and he was fine the first night. I'd say it's not safe if they're rolling. My guy didn't roll over til he was 5.5 months

I remember that after each transition (i.e. out of rock n play to swaddle in crib, swaddle to merlin or zippydzip, and then eventually to halo sack arms out) it was just a rough period of time for about 7-10 days, no way around it. Once they start moving around, you just have to get ready for a period of sucky sleep. I know she's young per "The Rules" but around 6 months I introduced a lovey (angel dear with a knot in the blanket part). That really helped her self-soothe.
If you want to try one more "device" you could try the zippedyzip or whatever its called. Good luck. I wish I had a magic answer for you!

Dd is just about 6 months old and has been sleeping in the Merlin sleepsuit since 3 months. Her sleep isn't amazing, but it's not terrible. She's been rolling all over the place and trying to crawl (not in the sleepsuit yet), so I know it's time to transition her out of it before it's dangerous. Last night we tried a sleep sack and it was awful, she was rolling and claiming all over the place and wouldn't calm down even in my arms. After about 3 hours I finally put her back in her suit and she slept fine. Any tips?? I'm not even sure cry it out will work, she was not letting up!
