@Smurfette: totally agree with the incline! We had a pad under the crib sheet that inclined part of the mattress for R for a while.

We are right there with you. 12 weeks and I've been trying for the past few days. He also usually sleeps at night in his RNP and doesn't like swaddling. His big bro did fine with the transition but we swaddled. I might try that again if I'm desperate, but this kid is huge and will probably need a double.

I am using a sleep sack and white noise. Am trying to establish a bedtime routine (diaper change, sleep sack, lights out, nurse) and it's tough since I have a toddler too (DH works late at least a couple nights a week so we can't always divide and conquer).

Anyway, he went right down on the first night but woke up trying to scream the house down a half hour later. Didn't push it and let him return to the RNP. Second night I put a crib wedge in to elevate his head a bit, and he actually spent almost the entire night in his crib without issue. Thought that might be key, but the past two nights have been crappy again and I'm just too tired to try to calm him more than a couple of times before I let him return to the RNP.

I have considered putting a rolled up towel under the sheet for a "nest" but really want that to be a last resort. I'm just hoping that he will start to get used to it soon. He still flails a lot and wants to suck his thumb/hands but can't quite keep them where he needs to for long periods of time.

R went from the RnP to crib with no issues. But we had the crib elevated for her reflux. Maybe the incline would help. Or did you see MrsBlue blog post on the nest.

I'm ready to move J into his crib, but not sure how to go about it. Right now he sleeps in either the Rock n Play or the swing (I know, I know). Not swaddled. He hasn't been swaddled since like 2 weeks old - he's 13 weeks now. So far he's taken 4 naps in his pack n play at work, but only after he played with his activity mat that I keep in his crib, so he played himself to sleep. He always wakes up if I take him from sleep to lay him flat and won't fall asleep.

So, if you did something similar how did you make the switch? Do I need to start swaddling? Get a sleep sack, let him CIO? It would be so much easier if he was in his crib.

Any advice welcome!
