@natalie403: I bought a few different ones to try her out on and then once we made our decision I bought more. I highly recommend the NUK learner cup with the soft spout. I just introduced her to the munchkin straw cup for water and she likes that but prefers to have her milk in the NUK. That's wonderful he's taking it so well! I did all bottles the same split so she wouldn't get to thinking "hey, that other one was what I'm use to" and then start refusing the cows milk and want just formula. I didn't want to chance it!

@natalie403: Before she was one, we just offered small amounts of water in a straw cup here & there throughout the day. I wanted to make sure she was still drinking all the formula she needed so we kept that in a bottle. So right when she turned 1, we ditched formula and let her drink cow's milk form a bottle morning and night, but started offering tons more water & milk in straw cusp. Then finally after 2-3 weeks we just ditched the bottle altogether.

Ahh I didn't get notification of replies, thank you so much for your input ladies!!!!! :)

@youboots: Do you do the milk with meals or in between? When did you make that transition?

@snowjewelz: So did you do sippy cups during the day?

@pinkarmadillo: This is going to sound stupid (I'm so clueless about this transition) but how many sippy cups did you buy? Should I wait til he finds one he really likes to buy more of?? I started doing half formula/milk for his morning and night bottles (I'm unsure of how to handle daycare bottles yet...) and so far he is taking it great!

@My Only Sunshine: Thank you for the suggestion, it sounds like this is a popular brand!! I think I should give it a go!!

@sapphire: Thank you this makes me feel better :)

@Bluemasonjar: Thank you so much! I'll look into that cup too!! :)

My MIL bought us the Munchkin Miracle 360 cup when DS was 10 months so we introduced it to him with water and he took to it right away. We also use regular sippy cups and I started offering milk just before a year. He is still hit or miss on the milk but drinks from the cups great. We are starting to use straws and he does well but dribbles at the end. Just keep trying and they will catch on.

My LO only took water out of the sippy until 12 months but quickly got the hang of drinking milk out of it then. Your LO probably just needs time. We transitioned out of the bottle over the last week before she turned 1.

@natalie403: My DD was using bottles until a few months after her first birthday. I transitioned to cow's milk and then transitioned from bottle to sippy.

We had good luck with Nuk sippy cups at first - they're sort of bottle-ish so they were a good transition for DD.

We started transitioning at 11 months and chose to gradually introduce cow's milk to my daughter. At first we did 2/3 formula and 1/3 milk for a week and then we moved to 1/2 and 1/2 and then to 1/3 formula and 2/3 milk and then to only cow's milk. It worked really well for us and helped her tummy catch up to the new milk. I swear by the Nuk sippy and we had a really easy transition with it. We offered it a lot with water but she never took to it but one night I gave it to her for her last "bottle" and after a couple minutes of resistance she took it so I never turned back. Packed up the bottles the next day and she has done great with the sippy since then. Good luck!

We transitioned to a Nuk sippy for milk. At 11 months I started mixing in wcm to formula, and by a year he was fully drinking wcm.

I also didn't bother with a sippy, just straight to a straw cup. I think my LO was on 3-4 bottles of formula at that age, so around 11-12 months I started putting wcm/formula mixture in the 2nd and 3rd bottles to get him used to the wcm first. I dropped the bottles in that order as well. By the time I got rid of the bottle at 13 months, he was down to the 4th bottle only.
My LO had a hard time with straws also, and I found two things that worked for us: the Munchkin click lock weighted straw cup, and pouches. Once he got the hang of pouches, it was much easier for him to get the straw concept.

You have plenty of time at 10.5 months! Just keep trying with the straw! We didn't bother with the sippy. We kept the bottle for morning/night for another few weeks after she turned 1 but successfully weaned to a straw after.

DD is 17 mo and still takes 3 bottles of WCM a day. She takes all other liquids out of a straw Zoli cup. We will eventually get her off the bottle, but I'm not in a huge rush.

Hi everyone! My little guy is 10.5 months now... he is on formula a few times a day and solids 3xday. He only has 1 tooth so we just introduced stage 3 solids recently, otherwise been having the pureed stage 2 and then some puffs. I already feel like we are behind on that since he gags at most chunky foods.... Now I feel like we are even more behind on sippy cup. He has zero interest. He just throws it. I tried using a straw one instead and if I hold it up to his mouth it looks like he is trying to get the hand of it but not really. I realize we should be transitioning to milk at 1 year... how does one go about doing that if their kid is still taking bottles? Do I just go straight to milk or is there a transition period?? I feel so clueless :( Any input would be appreciated!!!
