We told LO she can't get out without asking. It's worked. Now sometimes we get crying and have to go rescue a blanket or animal that has fallen out. But she will not get out of her bed (yet). This has been about 3 months since we made the transition.

@locavore_mama: I don't know. It'd be easier for us to lay with her but I'm not interested in making that a habit, either.

We'd have to buy a mattress so I feel like it'd be an expensive experiment.

I say stick with it - the novelty "may" wear off. My DS was a nightmare but my DD only took 3 nights to get the hang of staying in bed!

@Mrs. Jump Rope: do you think she'll do better if you went straight to a bed bed??

@locavore_mama: GAH. Why is my kid so antibed? We can't get her to stop climbing out. She won't even lay with us except for earlier when DH read her the lorax.

She says she's not afraid of it. She sleeps just fine in our queen bed & in my sisters bed if she sleeps over my parents.

And she napped fine in the crib.

We did everything per normal and it went off without a hitch for us!

This pregnant, tired momma has been napping with her toddler so don't ask me about naps. :P

We converted Chloe's crib into a toddler bed today. I am SO GLAD we didn't go buy a new mattress for the full bed we've got in storage, because it's been a rough afternoon.

Suggestions on making this smoother? She was super excited for the bed but refusing to nap. She and DH did read a book like usual but after it was over she declared nap time over.

I'd like to make bedtime an easier transition for us. As a last ditch effort we will just reassemble the crib.

help!!
