@Truth Bombs: @Foodnerd81: Glad to hear your LOs are better now! I was pretty convinced we were going to have to keep her home but now I'm hopeful. Today is her second full day of fever so hopefully by tomorrow it will be down.

@catlady: I wonder if this is what C had a few weeks ago. She just suddenly spiked a fever, it stayed up pretty high, even with Advil and Tylenol, for a day, then went back down. She was pretty cranky for another day or two and didn't eat very much during that time. But honestly, as long as she was watching Daniel Tiger, she was fine. She probably would have been ok to travel, just a little crankier than usual. Her friend had it a few days before her and he was the same- fever for a solid day, day and a half, then cranky for another day or two.

@catlady: My LO just had this and so did her friend and both were totally better in 2 days. LO was cranky Sunday, we got home and took her temp and it was 101. She woke up Monday morning it was 103. We gave her a dose of Advil and let her rest, and the fever never came back. So I would probably plan to travel since I bet your LO will be better very quickly.

If the temperature comes down a little more, then I would consider traveling! Especially if she's sleeping a lot...

@hilsy85: For fun, for my good friend's wedding. LO is 21 months.

@mrbee: No, unfortunately we only heard about the virus from the doctor. I've never heard of anything like this! The doctor said 3-5 days usually (this could be day 2 or 3, not sure).

@catlady: Do you have any friends whose kids had the virus and recovered? Might give a sense for what the usual recovery period is like...

Would you travel (by plane) with a sick kid? We have a 4 day trip booked for tomorrow but LO has come down with a weird virus which is going around (only symptom is super high fever). Her temp was close to 105 yesterday, down to between 101-103 today.

We can wait until tomorrow morning to decide, but since I doubt she will be 100% well, we are basically trying to decide between:
a. Travel with a sick kid (and hope it passes quickly)
b. I go alone and leave DH at home with LO, we cancel their tickets, lose the money, and hope that our travel insurance covers the loss (I'm not optimistic)
c. Same as above except we pay the airline more money to keep their tickets as a credit which we need to use within a year (and we may not end up using it).

Plus if we choose b or c, I need to decide if I should stay the whole 4 days we planned by myself or else pay more money to come home to them sooner.

I'm super conflicted. What would you do?

Edited to add: This is for my friend's wedding, which is why I'd consider going alone.
