@maddyz: I saw you're in NYC - maybe look for a more portable used one on Craigslist?

@maddyz: are you traveling to see family or traveling for fun/work?

Before my LO could move much, I flew solo with her to my Mom's for a few weeks and she slept on a nap mat my mom had, just on the floor next to my bed.

Once she got older and I had to worry about her waking up and crawling around in the night, I bought the Lotus crib, which we still use now when we travel (LO is 21 months). It's small enough to carry on to a plane and super easy to set up.

since your babe will be so young, what about a travel bassinet since you already have a travel crib? i wouldn't want to buy something i already had!

Does Lo have his own seat, and do you have to pay for checked bags? If you are paying to check a bag it very well may be cheaper to just buy a new basic pnp and have it delivered to your destination. But that could be tricky if you are moving around a lot or staying in a rental where you can't have something delivered ahead of time.

Are you going to be staying in a hotel or with friends/relatives? I know a lot of hotels will provide a crib, but there's kind of an ick factor there. If you're going to be around friends or family, can you borrow one?

I have a few upcoming solo flights/travel with my DS who will be 2-4 months old. We have a nuna crib, but it's huge and heavy and not good to check on a flight. He is too big or too young for most the smaller options out there.

Is there something easy to bring?

Buying a cheep pack n play is less then the oversize bag charges by a lot.

I would co sleep, but at least one of these trips I'll be sleeping in a very squishy twin bed.
