We are actually buying a new basic one for our next trip and leaving it there, because that is cheaper than checking an extra bag. Which is annoying. My brother has the lotus and loves it too. The lotus is smaller, so you can even carry it on. The bjorn has a thicker (comfier) mattress and is easier to set up. So it depends on your preferences. Whenever we travel by plane, we've got too much to juggle that carrying on a travel crib doesn't make sense for us. So we just check the bjorn. It'll be nice if its big enough to last until I feel comfortable with her sleeping in bed with me and my toddler. We do have a hand me down Graco PnP we can just bring with us.
