If it were me, I'd identify the sights that we were going to be seeing and then get some things related to that.

My son is 7 and he already has the kit, but I would look for a lego kit of some of the sites. There's a red double decker bus, for example, that takes about 20 minutes to build.

Amazon has a ton of stuff, including a telephone booth bank...that might be fun too, so they can save up to buy something while they are visiting.

Then, I'd also get a kids travel journal and some scrapbook stickers specific to London. I might also get a union jack tee shirt, my son goes nuts for stuff like that. There's a ton of stuff out there.

We have this book that’s great for introducing London. There’s also a Paris and New York version.

How old are your LOs? I would think that books set in London should help. "Thames Doesn't Rhyme With James" by Paula Danzinger might be fun to read together if they are a little older, and then you could plan to visit some of the sites mentioned in the book.

We usually just hit up the library for books on the country and look over the pictures.

I’ve also seen Usborne books with some countries. There’s a Kitty Cat series where the kitty travels and we have the France one. I think they might have London.

Are there any books or games to get kids excited for a destination? I’m thinking of going to London and would love a workbook or treasure hunt or something for the kids to participate in to get the excited about the sightseeing
