@littlejoy: Thanks for also recommending the Pottete Plus. Good to know you loved it, and really interesting that your LO started the process SO early!
@Iced Tea: thanks for sharing about the Oxo, I'll look for that one, too, for comparison.
@FaithFertility: wow, your LO trained pretty quickly, then! Good girl! 😊
@Charm54: ahh, I haven't seen this one yet--I'll look for it, thanks! ☺

@GoGoSnoGirl: I have no info on a travel potty but DD showed interest around 18 months too
Some days more than others
I just took her lead
Around 21-22 months she was 80% at home still diapers for naps/travel/outings and bedtime

This past month she has been 100% at home and out!
I still do diaper for nap and bed!
She is 2 in 2 weeks

We use the oxo travel potty. It functions the same way as the potette but looks nicer, in my opinion. We use plastic grocery bags with a paper towel in the bottom when using at as a stand-alone potty.

I would recommend the Potette Plus travel potty over and over again. It's AMAZING!! We did very relaxed potty learning starting around 8 months (EC). Around 15 months, our LO's school wanted us to actively potty learn at home. By 2.25, she was completely potty trained (even through the night). I loved following her lead, on her timeline.

We also got a bunch of those thick Gerber undies, which were nice to have.

@GoGoSnoGirl: This one is definitely small and light and portable. I took it with me when we went to Gymnastics a bunch, and it was easy to put on a regular toilet. I just couldn't get Xander to use it! But I think that was more his phobia of public restrooms than the potty seat.

@Adira: thanks for the link. I saw this mentioned in older posts & thought maybe I'd order that one but was hoping to hear how any "bees" have liked that one for ease of use & it's portability, especially for every day trips. Pottys are cheap enough I thought about just getting one for grandma's house where we'll be staying for 10 days over the holidays, but especially since LO is still little & doesn't have perfect balance, having a travel seat for our daily trips out would probably be helpful. :-\

We bought this travel potty when Xander was potty training:

https://www.amazon.com/Kalencom-2-in-1-Potette-Plus-Blue/dp/B0016L0MMS

It has great reviews, but we never actually used it! At first, Xander would just refuse to go potty in a public rest room when we were out and about, so we kept all our outtings short. And when we'd go somewhere for longer, but less public (like grandparents' house), he would just use a regular toilet with some assistance from us. And when he finally was willing to use a public toilet, he no longer needed the travel potty!

He was also 2.5 when he trained, so not as young as your LO. Good luck!

My LO is 18mos & to our surprise is already interested in using the toilet! She has peed on her little potty 3 times so far in the last week so we take her most any time she asks to go to the potty to try. So far she's only asked once while we were out & about, but we'll also be traveling for the holidays. I'm excited she's interested, but selfishly am a little disappointed to need to support her trying while traveling. Lol!

What travel seats does anyone recommend? Also if your LO trained early or on their own timeline, how long did the whole process take?
