Honestly one of the best, if not the best, place we have ever been to. We did the typical touristy stuff (golden circle, blue lagoon) but the best part was the less-touristy Southern Iceland. We drove it ourselves and stopped at some highlights and it was just out of this world. It is very $$$ once you're there though. The good part is everything is in Kronas so you don't really know how much things cost (until 10 minutes into your lunch and you're like - "Did this panini just cost me TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS?! :shocked: :silly: ") DH actually wants to go back and do Northern Iceland, but I would like to see something else since our kid-free trips are so rare these days :)</p> <p>@erinbaderin: Hahah I love how you put eating as an activity - I told DH that all the good food was my main draw to wanting to go to Vegas :silly: I never thought about mainland Portugal... I should see what I could get for flights from Air Canada. I have sworn off the Portugeuse airline (SATA) that we were dealing with for the Azores.</p> <p>@lamariniere: I think we have narrowed it down to Vegas or Ireland! Dh has been to both and loves both, I have been to neither so am open to both possibilities. The airline has been a nightmare to deal with, changing our flights multiple times. Yesterday was the 3rd change (just 5 weeks from departure) and the final straw - they gave us completely new dates that we can't make work. I spent all day cancelling all of our rentals, airbnbs, hotels, tours, excursions, inter-island flights etc. Ugh.</p> <p>We still want to go away somewhere but are at a loss. We want somewhere in the US/Canada/Western Europe. We like both adventure trips (Iceland and Costa Rica were our favourites) and Chill the F out trips (ie: Jamaica). We are up for either type of vacation. </p> <p>Any suggestions? DH is thinking Vegas but I'm worried it will be HOT. We would be going end of June/early July. </p>
