It will be fine. We use a super cheap umbrella stroller when we travel, and DD couldn't care less.

@PurpleUnicorn: great suggestion. I should really take it out and about, if for nothing else than learning how to fold it up!

another thought, if you haven't used the maclaren yet, why don't you start testing it out before your trip?

i traveled recently with my britax b agile (which from i understand is equivalent to the city mini) and i thought it was very easy to travel with and we liked having it. my sister also traveled with her city mini once and recommend it. i can't speak for the maclaren though, so if people say its fine, i am sure it is!

I travel with our regular city mini all the time, but I think the Maclaren would be a great choice, too! :)

We bought a cheap umbrella stroller just for trips and used it with our 7month old in Chicago. She fell asleep very well in it even though it didnt recline all the way like our britax does.

Great thoughts, ladies! I figured as much, with the lighter stroller. Also, I won't be as concerned if it gets damaged, I suppose!

We have satellite strollers (my mom, mil, etc. all have spare strollers) so we haven't had to travel with the good stroller.

I'm wondering the same thing! Trying to decide whether I should bring my BOB or my small stroller on our trip to my hometown. Interested to see the replies :)

I am going to be traveling for work in a few weeks and LO will be coming with me. I have not yet flown with him (a bit nervous about all of the "stuff" that will need to come with us!) and am curious about your experiences with strollers on trips.

We will be going to a very walkable place where we will most likely use the stroller a lot. At home, we use a City Mini GT but also have a Maclaren umbrella stroller, a hand-me-down, that we haven't used yet. I am assuming the Maclaren will be better for this trip but I am concerned that it might not be comfy enough for him if we're out and about a lot.

Would you bring a (potentially) less comfortable stroller to have something lighter/more travel-friendly? Or would you bring the big stroller?
