@mediagirl: there is a washer/dryer, which is nice. We will be there for a week!

Right now I am EBF, but by that point I will have started pumping too because I go back to work at the end of Jan.

@Mrs. J: sounds like fun!! Will your condo have a washer/dryer in it? How long are you going for?

I would take double the amount of onesies and sleepers that you think you will need. Even though you are going to a warm climate, your lo still can't regulate well and if I remember correctly, we kept M (who was born in June in the south) in sleepers at night and onesies with pants and ls tops during the day unless we were out and about.

Take a couple of blankets - for floor time.

The two things we relied upon when we took our almost 3 month old to Florida was the bouncy chair and the pack n play. Since you're going to Mexico, I would suggest just making sure you have somewhere for him to sleep and use that as somewhere safe for him to be if you all can't be holding him.

Are you pumping? Will you need to take your pump, bottles, detergent, dish detergent, bottle drying rack, etc with you? Formula feeding? Need to take formula and the above items?

@locavore_mama: The condo is already rented, but we could probably ask about the play pen. We are going to bring our car seat and gate check it because we'll have a rental car down there.

We are going to Puerto Aventuras, which is near Cancun. J will have his shots right before we leave.

I think at that age you have to worry less about the flight portion. Wearing him would be nice because they don't make you take him off at security. If you nurse it won't be a bad idea to do during takeoff for ear popping.

Is the condo already rented? If not it might not hurt to see if any can include a playpen for sleeping so you don't have to travel with one? As many things from "home" as possible for bedtime routine if your child is a stickler about it.

I don't know what the rules for car seats are in Mexico but at that young age I would probably gate check one or rent one from a reputable source there. I would bring a playmat, something to set him down on occasionally.

Where in Mexico are you going? I am surprised your ped OK'd int'l travel before your LO even got his first set of shots.

Hive,
The inlaws have graciously decided to take DH, DS, SIL, BIL, and me on a trip to Mexico next month. They are paying for pretty much everything, and we are staying in a condo in basically a gated community. I was a little hesitant at first, but the ped gave his approval, so I feel better.

My question is two, really. What travel advice do you have, and what do I need for a 2 month old in Mexico? I am used to dressing him for winter here, but it will be 70s-80s there.

It will be a 4 hour flight.
