I cannot believe that there would be any airline with flight crew or passengers without half a heart that would possibly make a 3.5 year old sit on their own just because of assigned seats. I wouldn't pay it.

I just flew spirit a couple weeks ago with my 2 year old. I paid the 10$ per seat each way and my friends laughed at me and said they would have sat us together. When I was boarding, I asked if they would have just sat me with her and they said they certainly would have. I am pretty anxious flying just me and a toddler, so I'd probably always pay the 10$ per seat just in case.

I fly Spirit every 3 months out to see family with my 2 year old and my husband. We never pay to sit together, but they have always sat us next to each other, no problem. Based on my experience with them, I would be very surprised if they separated you from your LO, but they might split you and your SO apart.

If you want to guarantee seats together, you're going to have to bite the bullet and pay the extra fee. It's up to you if you think the $160 is worth it or not.

I'd just call customer service. SW lets families board early after group A.

Any experiences traveling as a family on Spirit airlines? Is it worth it to pay to sit together? it's $10 per seat per segment, so it would be an extra $160 round trip for a family of four. And honestly, I'd *maybe* be okay not sitting next to my 3.5 yr old  :silly: , just not sure how the rest of the plane would take it.

Would they automatically try to put at least two of us together?
