yes! we do, as do my parents. I'm trying to get my in laws to get it, too - because if it saves you a 1-2 hour border wait in each direction, it's already paid for itself in one trip.

We live in a border town, DH still works in Canada and his whole family lives there. I'd say as a family, we're there at least once every 2 weeks. We applied for a NEXUS for DS as soon as we got his Social Security number. It's just easier for all of us to be able to use the Nexus lane.

However, at our border crossing, it doesn't usually save a TON of time, because they way it's built, everyone lines up in one long line and you're only able to cut into the NEXUS lane near the end.

@locavore_mama: You can time travel!? So cool!!! Just kidding. :silly:

@bluestriped bee: A lot of my friends that go up to Vancouver several times a year have Nexus passes. We have been meaning to get them too. If you travel internationally, you should also look into Global Entry.

We go into Canada quite frequently and knock on wood have been able to time travel so we aren't stuck at customs.

The only people locally I know who have one are those that cross over daily for work or weekly because they have a vacation home across the border.

If you go often and going through really busy airports then i'd probably think about it. But my home airport is quite small, and with LO getting us through the family priority line it wasn't worth it for us.

Friends of ours have nexus passes — he works for an American company, but are Canadian and live in Canada. Her parents live right on the border in Canada, so they often drop their son off with her parents and go over for a weekend, or she and their son will stay with her parents while he goes to the states to drop in at the office. They say it's great — but everyone in the vehicle has to have one, or you can't use the nexus line.

If you go often, it's worth it.

My singing teacher owns a country house just across the border that he visits weekly and the Nexus passes are great for him and his husband. Saves them a LOT of hassle.

Nexus is like a speed pass to get through the US/ Canada borders.

I always thought it was too expensive to consider but I just looked it up. It's $50 for a 5 year pass per person. That's $10 a year, not bad at all.

DH wants us to get it. We do usually travel into Canada during the weekends where the lines are crazy. Hmm...

Do you travel into Canada or US often? Do you have a Nexus account?
