I like to travel super light, so where ever I travel, I only pack basics and what I need that I wouldn't be afraid of losing or damaging. I only carry one handbag when I travel, longchamp tote internationally, or whatever I happen to be using domestically, usually LV. My e-ring goes with me to Europe/Australia/NZ/etc, but stays at home for South America/Mexico/etc. I don't really accessorize otherwise so that just stays the same - diamond pendant, gold and jade bracelet. I don't dress up and do fancy outings at home or on vacation so clothing is the same where ever I go.

I don't. It's just not worth losing or getting the attention drawn to in my opinion.

@TurtleDoves: @sunny: Same! I bring my DSLR, but my "travel-friendly" clothes are always the same ones, so it often looks like I just wear the same things on every trip!

It depends. If I'm just going to lay on the beach I'll bring comfortable bummy clothes. If I'm in Europe I end up doing a lot of visiting and need nice things for fancier dinners. I always wear my engagement ring but don't bring anything super flashy. If I feel uncomfortable I'll spin my ring.

I don't really have a lot of nice things, but I do wear my e-ring pretty much everywhere. But it's not overly ostentatious or anything.

Internationally, I try to bring clothing that is functional... Meaning things I can layer and wear several times without it looking too gross. And I almost always bring a pair of sneakers to wear on the plane. I also don't bring any jewelry or any nice purses. I do bring my nice DSLR and that gives me away as a tourist though :-( I've gone back and forth on wearing my e-ring. On one hand (ha ha), it could get stolen at home. On the other, I might lose it or get targeted if we are travelling.

Domestically I dress as I do at home though I will bring my most travel friendly purse and shoes.

I never wore my e-ring when traveling internationally. Can't remember if I brought it to Chicago last summer, but if I didn't it was prob b/c I was 5 mo. pregnant and concerned about swelling!

I don't have many nice things. I do take my ering though I asked my mil what she did because it was her ering first and she said she took it.

It depends on where I'm going. Europe I take the nice stuff....Mexico and South America I leave it at home.

I usually always bring my rings. Lock them in the safe during the day and then wear then out to dinner. I hate not wearing mine.

Yeah....its so sad. I always look bummy on vacations! I just don't want to risk getting stuff stolen or lost. I do bring our camera though...I wouldn't take my ering for sure!
I do bring nice clothing...but no jewelry or expensive shoes or purses or my expensive sun glasses...So, I don't look too awesome, but well.
If I was going overseas, i'd try even *more* not to draw attention to myself or appear to have money because, there are people who prey on tourist specifically.

When you travel Internationally or Domestically, do you take your nicer things/valuables?

For Int'l travel, I always leave my E-ring and nice purses, jewelry, etc. at home. We never want to draw too much attention to ourselves and don't want to risk getting things stolen or be a target. I have a "fake" e-ring I always meant to wear for traveling, but I think I've only taken it once. I know a lot of people who always take their nice purses and wear expensive jewelry regardless of where they travel! I was just reading something about someone who wanted to take like 3 Chanels in her checked luggage!

Domestically, I would usually pack/dress as I do at home, but only what I will wear on the plane (carry-on).

What do you do?
