I traveled to Chicago from Virginia for work when my daughter was 9 months old--it was the first time I'd been away from her overnight. I managed to avoid the airport bathrooms by pumping right before we left for flights (including at the client's office--I have no shame anymore!). But, my schedule was definitely weird the day we came back, but it was okay because DD was older. I was super full and really needed to pump when we got home. I flew out of a big international airport on my way down and the mothers room was soooo far from my gate so I went over to another gate that wasn't being used and just pumped facing a wall (with a cover). Did the same thing on the way home because it was a smaller regional airport and my only option would have been a traditional bathroom stall and I won't do that. </p> <p>Honestly at this point I have pumped just about everywhere. I pump every work day morning on the commuter train into the city, I have pumped on the airplane (in my seat) because we were delayed on the Tarmac FOREVER. Have you ladies pumped at airports? Do they even have lactation rooms with an outlet? Ugh I really wish I didn't have to travel for work while I'm still breastfeeding. </p>
