I pumped at the airport but just used a public restroom...it worked out fine and I honestly didn't care about pumping in public

How old is your LO? I traveled to Chicago from Virginia for work when my daughter was 9 months old--it was the first time I'd been away from her overnight. I managed to avoid the airport bathrooms by pumping right before we left for flights (including at the client's office--I have no shame anymore!). But, my schedule was definitely weird the day we came back, but it was okay because DD was older. I was super full and really needed to pump when we got home. Good luck, mama!

I have pumped in an airport with my manual pump that way I didn't have to worry about liquids since I did it after security. I used a bathroom in a frequent traveler lounge that has a housekeeper so I felt okay using a bathroom.
I am lucky though that I have no trouble skipping "feeds" and usually pump about the same whether I pump once or twice.

I'm traveling from NYC to TX in a couple weeks and worrying about the same thing... There's an app called Moms Pump Here which gives locations too!

If there's a USO at the airport, the volunteers may let you use one of their little rooms for some privacy.

@dolphin: I just did this on Mon and Wed. I flew out of a big international airport on my way down and the mothers room was soooo far from my gate so I went over to another gate that wasn't being used and just pumped facing a wall (with a cover). Did the same thing on the way home because it was a smaller regional airport and my only option would have been a traditional bathroom stall and I won't do that.

Honestly at this point I have pumped just about everywhere. I pump every work day morning on the commuter train into the city, I have pumped on the airplane (in my seat) because we were delayed on the Tarmac FOREVER. I figure since I would nurse my DD in these places without thinking twice, I should be able to pump too :goodluck:

Some airports do but others you will be stuck with the family bathroom. I got delayed in Orlando and the only option was a family restroom. I'd look at the specific airport websites to get ideas.

I need to travel for work from Chicago to DC for a client meeting and I'm stressing out about pumping. Have you ladies pumped at airports? Do they even have lactation rooms with an outlet? Ugh I really wish I didn't have to travel for work while I'm still breastfeeding.
