A super fun speakeasy in a dicey part of town that you can walk to from Union Square. But its a must. Password "books" has always worked for me. There is also a bar-within-a-bar inside. You need reservations for it but its cool if you are looking for a fun drinking experience. Rickhouse is owned by the same people - not a speakeasy but a fun bar. And for a day activity, I really like the Sutro Baths and the little restaurant that's there. We already have our hotel booked by Union Square, and we are planning to do a night tour of Alcatraz. Any recommendations for things to do while we are there or specific restaurants to try? Also, we are looking for things to do at night, so any cool bars or nighttime entertainment you can suggest? </p>
