Well Baby E and I survived the trip! On the way there we had the entire row to ourselves and he slept for 1/2 of the plane ride. And he even sat in his own seat for a little while which he seemed really excited to get to do. The plane ride home was harder because the flight was full and I was in a middle seat. My DH was in the cock-pit doing his thing. So I didn't have his help at all. But baby E did really good. He slept for 30 minutes on take-off and 30 minutes on landing. The in between I occupied his time with snacks, a book, and playing peek-a-boo with the kid in the row in front of us. The two men on either side of me where really nice. They both have kids and even offered to help me with my bags. Maybe they were just being nice because I was the pilot's wife. Who knows! LOL. As for the time spent at the in-laws it was nice. Mostly went to parks with the nieces. My sister-in-law bought diapers and baby food for me so I didn't have to travel with all of those items.

@dolphin: will be 9 months next week. So it is different this go around now that he crawl and doesn't sleep as much.
@MamaMoose: Thanks I'm just nervous. Thankfully my in-laws have a pack n Play there so that will help. I plan to buy his food/diapers there. Just bring enough for the plane ride. I'm just nervous about him squirmming around on the plane and getting mad because he can't move around on the floor.

@turkeylurkey: just got back from a five day trip that included two 2 hour flights and 2 two hour drives. Honestly the flights were fine. I nursed her on the way up and she slept most of the time (the white noise and movement of the plane lulled her to sleep.) On each flight she had a cry fest for maybe ten minutes. But pacis and snuggles got her back to sleep and everyone around us was really understanding. I would suggest having as much stuff shipped to your destination as possible. My parents were driving to meet us so they brought the car seat, pack n play, booster seat, diapers, wipes, baby food and toys. That saved us from carrying a lot of gear. We used the BOB in the airport which worked great for us.

We are going to visit family next week with baby in tow. I'm a little nervous about this trip. We went to visit family when he was 4 months old and it was super easy since he was still sleeping a lot, not mobile, and nursing. Now that he is a mover and shaker I'm nervous about the flight and the hotel stay. Anyone travel recently with their LO? Any tips or what to expect?
