When we traveled to my parents house at 3.5 months, we put a towel in the bottom of the tub so it wasn't so slippery and bathed her that way (with two people, so one could hold on and one could wash). All the other times we have traveled, one of us (usually my husband) will take DD into the shower.

I have a weird fear of hotel bathtubs and would not have wanted to put DD in one (I trust my parent's tub because my mom is a neat freak).

Get in or just laid her down in a little water. Usually just got on. She wasn't as slippery as I thought!

After a few months, laziness prevailed and I started putting down a hand towel for his head and letting him lay in the tub with an inch or two of water and splash around.

We put a towel on the bottom of the tub and just filled with a bit of water and let him kick around like that.

Or if we stayed at hotel with no tub, I'd shower with him :)

I used to get in the bath with my daughter. That way I could hold onto her, and it felt much safer that way. DH was on hand, so I could hand her off when she was all clean. Otherwise, I would lay a soft bathmat down, and wrap her up in a towel on the mat while I was getting out myself.

I second the inflatable duck tub (Munchkin brand, I think). It is perfect for travel and much more compact to take along than a bath seat.

I got in the tub with her and Dh helped clean her and wrap her up after. But we only gave her one bath while we were away anyway. We were flying so no way we were bringing an extra thing.

ETA: She was 5 months at the time.

What do you do for baths when you travel with your LO? R still uses her FP Whale of a Tub. Should I look into a bath seat for her that's more portable? Or just get in the tub with her? What did you do?
