Traveling can definitely affect your cycles, especially if you had to adjust to time changes. It should regulate soon, though.

@cbaby Glad to hear that it didn't take long to go back to normal!

@happygal I'm with you on charting - it's the only think is keeping me sane during this! I'm also tempted to try OPKs next cycle.
Also, our HB names are very similar! :)

Yes! Mine get a lot longer when I travel. I think after I studied abroad in Europe, my first cycle back was insanely long.

I'm getting to respond to this travel question a lot lately! Yes, traveling definitely can throw things off in your cycle. The body can perceive travel as stress--my doctor said that pressurized cabin can affect your cycle as well.

I haven't been charting long enough to tell if my cycle is regular now, but I don't think it's been off by too much (a day or two). Still, if you're trying to get pregnant, one to two days count! That's why charting and OPKs are appealing to me.

This exact thing happened to me this summer! We went to Italy for vacation and planned to start "trying" when we got back. I always had a regular, on-the-nose, 29-day cycle and that month went to 34 or 35 days. It was confusing and a little frustrating since I was eager to start trying and didn't know how to count.

I read in several places that jet lag and messed up sleep schedules can make you ovulate late. By the following month, I was back on the 29-day schedule. Good luck!

Has anyone ever had their cycle thrown off by more than a few days when travelling? I travelled to Europe during the start of my current cycle and was there for just over a week and my normally 28-29 day cycle is currently on CD34.

This is only my third cycle off BC, so maybe my body is still regulating, but I've read that travel can do it, too. If this happened to you, was your next cycle regular?
