@hilsy85: Yes, it was a prescription from our ped
@Keppa: The pharmacy had to order it for us. They don't normally carry it.
@eeh: Does the poly-vi-sol have a flavor to it? The Tri-vit smells horrible too. DS doesn't seem to like it.

We use poly-vi-sol with iron. It smells gross but my daughter loves it. Haven't noticed any changes in her since starting but it was recommended by our ped.

I'm wondering about this as well. We've been giving LO the D drops as well, but at his most recent 4 month appointment, the ped mentioned that we would need to up this to one which also contains iron. The one that has iron is not only hard to find, but also many people have said it tastes bad to babies and can cause constipation....just wondering what others are doing/have done.

Did your pedi tell you you needed to give him those? We were just told to give vitamin d drops.

Has anyone else had their LO Tri-Vit (with iron and fluoride) or other vitamin supplements? I'm especially interested in experience with Tri-Vit, since that's the one we're giving DS, but any comments will be helpful. When I picked up the prescription, the pharmacist said that it could cause constipation and/or darkened poop. We have had that happen, but DS's poop has been stinky and explosive. I'm not sure how to describe the smell. I'm not sure if it's related to the vitamins or something else. BTW, Tri-Vit has Vitamins A, C, and D, plus iron and fluoride. Thanks!
