@YogiRunner: so glad your LP has lengthened! Mine was short before DD and a month of BComplex did the trick. I managed to get pregant again without doing anything special after months and months of a 8-10 day LP but lost the baby for medical reasons in second trimester. I'm hoping I can get pregnant again without doing anything but we shall see.

Hi ladies, just bumping this with an update in case anyone else is visiting the thread with the same question. So the cycle after I asked this question, my LP shot up to 13 days! I can only guess at what did it, but I really think it was the 3 months of acupuncture and herbs/supplements prior. My acupuncturist did say it takes 3 months for that to start working.

I also try to eat really, really well (plenty of veggies, protein and fruit) and incorporate healthy fats like almonds, avocado, seeds, etc, and only drink whole milk. I needed to get my BMI after running the Boston Marathon last year and I think that diet did the trick. For exercise, I do yoga 3/4 times a week.

Hope that's helpful for anyone else! Fingers crossed it stays nice and long for good!

@PinkElephant: another user, @theotherstark gave me a list of things to try and that was on it.. also sesame seeds, spinach and maybe a few other things. I figured it didn't hurt to try it all!

Vitex (chasteberry) is supposed to lengthen your LP! It helped stop my pre AF spotting.

@YogiRunner: I took it all cycle. I did have a few wonky cycles with delayed ovulation but actually ended up getting pregnant those cycles (I was temping/charting and using OPKs).

@Yogirunner have they checked your progesterone? Mine was extremely low which (apparently) explained my short LP. I had to get on Clomid and have an IUI to get pregnant. B complex never did anything for me.

I had good luck seeing a naturopath. There are a million different supplements that the internet says will work, but some of them can have adverse effects too, so it helps to see a professional. OBs don't really deal with LP issues unless they're severe.

The B complex vitamins also did it for me with nothing else. I was charting before trying to have my son just to see and saw my phase was short so started those. I have had 3 successful pregnancies since and I only took the B complex for my first

@anya: sounds delish  Maybe I'll start adding honey and cinnamon to my tea like @pinkelephant and stock up on dark chocolate. Yum.

I used vitex, honey and cinnamon, walnuts and dark chocolate. Who knows what was the ticket if anything but my LP did gradually lengthen and I eventually got pregnant.

@travellingbee @pinkelephant: Thank you! The B complex seems worth a try. Do you take it all cycle or just after O? I've heard it delays O sometimes but not sure if that's accurate.

I'm on chaste tree and a few other herbs/supplements, but am awful at remembering to take them so maybe I need to be better about that. My acupuncturist says it takes 3 months for everything to start working too. That is an eternity when you are TTC!

Taking a daily B complex did it for me (without anything else). I also read somewhere (probably not credible, haha) thst a tablespoon of honey and cinnamon per day could be helpful with General cycle regulation, so I started having that in my tea every morning too :)

I had a really short a LP that lengthened the first month I took the B complex, and now have two little girls. Getting it to about 11 days was kong enough to sustain both pregnancies. Good luck!! :)

@YogiRunner: my luteal phase was quite short-8-10 days and I started a bunch of things at once, so I'm not sure which helped. I saw a naturopath Who put me on several supplementsspecifically to lengthen my luteal phase. ( photo below) I was also on chaste tree twice a day. Then I started Accupuncture. I ended up with a perfect 28 day cycle ovulating on cd 14.

Hi ladies,

Been TTC a year, and my LP has never gone past 11 days. In fact, the last 4 months it's been a measly 9 days.

We are starting a medicated IUI next cycle, so I'm hoping the stronger O will boost my progesterone and lengthen the LP, but in the meantime, I'd love to boost it more naturally.

So, what has worked to lengthen your LP?

Thanks in advance
