At 22 months he can reach the pedals and is learning to work them. The handle is nice because you can push slowly and it helps him to keep his feet going. LO got it for her 1st birthday. At that point we just pushed her around with her feet on the stationary pedals; at nearly 21 months she's making some effort at using it as a push-bike. It will easily last her another year or two as she learns to pedal since the parent handlebar and baby harness part are removable.
