@Stardust17: We switched to an IUI on our last cycle because we were resenting having scheduled sex and it wasn't fun and we wanted to give ourselves our best shot. Good luck

@snarkybiochemist: thanks! I think we have decided to see if my follicles look promising and if so, we may just go ahead and do IUI. My body needs a break from this and I think our relationship does too! Wish us luck!

That was the timing for our IUI that resulted in E. We had sex on Sunday, triggered Monday at 8am and then the IUI was 1pm on Tuesday.

Thank you guys! Do any of you think it would be beneficial to BD Thursday night before trigger shot and then Saturday evening? We’d have to more than likely skip Friday though. Just thinking out loud 🤗

After trigger you ovulate 36 hrs after and its better to have the sperm waiting for the egg to be released. Friday night is great, we were always told to have sex day of trigger except for when we did our IUI which then was sex day before trigger IUI 30 hrs after trigger. Our RE also talked about ICI, inter cervical insemination which can be done at home and involves using a syringe or menstrual cup to place the sperm at the cervix, obviously this isn't as direct of a placement at IUI but if your husband has an easier time ejaculating into a cup rather then during sex it might be a viable option for you as well.

Agree ... in theory you ovulate around Saturday night which means Friday night bd is perfect (it’s there waiting and ready!) and definitely your best shot. I would try Sunday but try to take the pressure off (difficult i know) because you’re so much more likely to have success from Friday than after you ovulate. Good luck one time can definitely get it done!!

You are supposed to DTD as much as possible the day of the trigger and the next two days, so I'd definitely try for Sunday night if it's possible. That said, I got pregnant last month with a trigger and we only did it the day after the trigger (although twice), so whatever you can make work might be successful.

I’m on my third round of Femara and 2nd round of getting the ovidrel trigger shot. My husband suffers from ED and even with medication, sometimes we aren’t able to BD (as in he can’t climax). My question is on timing. We can usually have success if there has been 72 hours in between BD’ing. I’m getting my trigger shot on Friday (CD12) at 10am. We plan to BD that night but it won’t be possible to do it for the next several nights. My last 2 cycles I have ovulated on CD 14 (per digital OPK, last month I didn’t do trigger shot). So, should we try for Sunday or do you think waiting until Monday evening will still be ok? I’m worried Sunday won’t be successful. He’s so discouraged but I’m supportive. We are both 36 and this is just life. Thanks!
