I agree with SNOWJEWLZ, there is a ton of walking! We told people to walk before they came to build up their stamina but no one did and they were all exhausted. It probably didn't help that our flat was up 4 flights of steep steps with no elevator.

We are in the middle of a trip to Paris without LO (17 months) and it’s gone way better than I could have hoped. I think he’s having way too much fun with his grandparents to miss us. We also left him for 4 days when he was 11.5 months and that went great too. He’s continuing going to daycare so his routine isn’t too disrupted.

If it’s your first trip to London, I would do the major touristy stuff...Tower of London, Windsor Castle, London Eye, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul’s. I also really enjoyed Churchill’s War Rooms. Also Harrod’s!

Agree with others about copies of passports, pediatrician/insurance info, etc. I also typed up a probably too detailed set of instructions for his daily routine and daycare process, as well as contact numbers...who knows if it was ever read, but it made me feel better

I did all the touristy things in London but be prepared b/c it's a ton of walking! If you aren't as into that, I would've wanted to take a quick trip out to the Stonehenge. Loved doing hi-tea (I was at the Orangey). I mainly did all the touristy stuff b/c I knew it wasn't likely that I'd go back for another visit.

It really depends on how long you have. We lived in London for 6 months and I loved going to Kensington Palace and the Tower of London, we always took people to both when they visited. You can get a pass that includes those and Hampton Court, which was great, too. What do you like to do? There is lots of free things you can do like walking Hyde Park, I think a lot of the museums are free (the British museum is spectacular). We did the London eye but I don't know if it is a must.

This 'consent to treat' form is the one we used:

I leave insurance cards (or at least copies) and make sure the caregivers are listed on the doctor form that allows them to bring your child in for treatment. When we leave the country, we have also printed one of those 'permission to treat' forms off the internet that we left at home with the insurance cards. Probably not necessary but it made me feel better while we were gone.

Hi all,

We are traveling to London for just a few days! I know a short trip but it’s a short flight so we can always go back!

I am just wondering if any of you have tips/suggestions for me because LO will be home with gma and aunt. Gma takes care of him during the day when I work so he’s comfortable.

We’ve traveled without him before when he was 3 months old. He will be 11 months when we leave for this trip.

Also, anyone been to London? Suggestions for a quick trip, restaurants? safety etc?

Anything you suggest for baby tips? I usually type up emergency numbers, copies of passports, rules etc...

Thanks!
