@Silva: LO is doing exactly the same thing unless we are out and about and she will nap in the car. I really think it is because dad is home and she doesn't want to miss anything because she naps almost perfectly for me during the week.

Mine is the same way. She's 11 months and takes two great naps every day during the week. Saturday and Sunday she takes one ok nap and then fights bedtime. It's definitely a daddy playtime thing. We've found that planning a car trip or long walk around nap time buys her a few more zzzzs.
I usually spend Mondays quietly at home so she can rest up a bit.

DD would only nap for 30 mins on the weekend when I put her down deb though she normally takes 2 hour naps with me so we tried having DH lay down next to her and put her down and now she naps for 2+ hrs again lol. She doesn't want to miss out on any daddy time!

Do you think it's time to drop a nap to only nap consistently twice each day? She may start to sleep longer for you for those two naps and start to sleep for you on weekends. Just a thought!

@Adira: she is 7.5 months, seems like it's been going on for a few weeks now. She does have a lot going on, just started crawling (sort of), stringing consonants, and is getting 4 teeth...but the difference between weekend and weekday is so surprising to me!

Eta: although today she fell asleep easily, but woke up after on,y 25 minutes or so. So maybe it's just a regression.

How old is your LO?

Xander seemed to go through a phase like what you're describing where he'd nap during the week but then REFUSED to nap on the weekend except nursing (and I'd literally just sit there with him on me for a good 30+ minutes after he was done nursing to make sure he got an okay nap). But it seemed to just be a phase for him and after a few weeks (maybe a month), he started napping again okay for us. He's 9 months now and I think he was like this around 6-8 months (I forget how long ago this was).

Just wondering if anyone else has run into this issue & solved it successfully (or even with marginal success!).

My husband generally only gets to see our daughter for about 20 minutes before bed most weekdays, but right now he has been able to be home most weekends.
She will not nap on the weekends when he is home!

During the week, about 75-85% of the time I can put her in her crib when she is tired, and she falls asleep. Some times she only sleeps for 40 minutes- but she will take 2-3 naps a day. Works great. When dad is home she cries, fusses, sleeps for 20 minutes and wakes up. This weekend I even tried just nursing her to sleep on our bed, but she would only stay asleep for maybe 10 minutes after I got up. She even seems to fight naps with me holding her/nursing out on the couch.

We do the same routine, and put her down at relatively the same times- but she does not want to miss any dad time!
