Toss and turn a while. Then I'll get up and read or write in a journal. Sometimes I'll get up and do dishes or something. They say the worst thing you can do is just lie there.

Toss and Turn, I avoid any lights because that just wakes my body up more. I will try and go to the bathroom as well, even if I don't "feel" like I need too, just so I don't wake up again and have to go! (yes I go in the dark haha)

I will try and lay there as long as I can without doing anything, and then I start getting so mad I can't go back to sleep I try to read or do whatever. It is just so frustrating! Usually I'll get up to go to the bathroom and that's what wakes me up...or I'm tossing and turning with heartburn. I start taking acid blockers today though so I'm hoping it helps.

Cup of hot cocoa, warm milk with honey and cinnamon, or Horlicks (when it's cool.) Shower (when it's warm.) Bathroom, drink. Check e-mail/facebook. Play a mindless facebook game, watch a movie I've seen at least half a dozen times (I can't watch Fellowship of the Ring now - I just fall asleep.) Watching Fellowship of the Ring is my guarantee of sleep.

I mostly toss and turn. I try not to turn on bright lights, like the TV, I phone, computer, because that type of light is really disruptive for sleep cycles. If I really can't sleep, I'll go into the living with one light on and read a book or magazine, just nothing with bright lights.

What do you do when you have a hard time sleeping at night? I toss and turn, watch tv, read, play on the iPad, nothing really seems to work until I just get sleepy enough to finally go back to sleep.
