I feel like one benefit of the RnP is when they stir during the night they rock themselves, where in the crib it's obviously stable. At least I think that's part of C's problem. Maybe it will just take a few nights?

Could you try the snuggled nest under the crib sheet and build up the opposite side you want his head to turn towards? That way he'll naturally turn his head that way?

S had a lopsided head too. We did lots of tummy time and once he started to learn how to roll, he actually preferred sleeping on his belly and would roll to it during the night. He's 12 months now and his head evened out

We had a ton of success with mrs. blue's tricks. The nest eventually would get flattened out and then we just removed it one day, no big deal. Could you incline the mattress and not use the nest? We've had the mattress inclined for a month. We finally took out the blocks from under the crib. We had to let E CIO a little as she learned to sleep on her tummy, since she's only ever been on her back in the RnP. Now she's figuring out that she likes her side the best. I think it just throws them for a loop to be able to have all that freedom!

It's a tough transition! Definitely took some time.

I did read her post. I'm wondering if that would defeat the purpose of moving him to his crib though (for our particular situation, not in general!)

The pedi thinks his head is a little lopsided and hypothesized that he may favor a side he turns to in his sleep. She wants us to use the crib and switch the end he sleeps on weekly. So, I'm worried the nest would encourage the same sleeping habits.

Mrs Blue wrote a blog post on this! She made a horseshoe shape under the crib sheet with a towel for the 'cuddled' feeling of the RNP. I believe several others have tried it successfully!

We've been having trouble getting B to STTN in his crib.

He's STTN for several weeks while in his RNP. Last week, we tried moving him to his crib at the recommendation of his pediatrician. For some reason, he won't STTN in there!

Without fail, he wakes up in the middle if the night screaming. Once, he had his leg stuck in the slats, but there is no apparent reason for the others. He isn't hungry as we can just pick him up, bounce him, and he will drift right back to sleep in his RNP until morning. If we try to put him back down in his crib he will wake again.

Is this normal? Any tips for keeping him in the crib all night?
