I would do the trial. Hoping H would warm up never worked for me... plus sometimes it totally depends on the teacher or facility.. we have tried gymnastics at more than one place and I definitely preferred one teacher/facility more than the other!

I would give it a try. I think activities can be great if it's something that your child enjoys, but I wouldn't spend the money and effort if it's something that isn't really working for her.

Have you asked her what she's interested in? Ellie started riding horses around that age, and she asked to be able to and that made a big difference in her commitment level and in what she got out of it. She said no dance, and no gymnastics. Maybe you could give her two or three choices and see if she gravitates toward anything in particular.

@Mamaof2: at the age of 4, do they allow parents to drop off and leave? Sometimes kiddos are more likely to join the class if their parents aren't there, so that might be something to consider.

Trial for sure! I am taking my son to a trial tumbling class in a few weeks, before we register (or not).

We tried soccer and he liked it because there was parental participation and doing soccer skills/drills, not actual games.

DD will be 4 in March.

Last Jan when she was approaching 3 I signed her up for dance class - it didn't go well - she sat on my lap unless I stood next to her and danced along

I want to try Gymnastics this year and wondering if I should take a free trial class and go from there or just sign her up and have her take the whole session?

DH thinks I should sign her up and hope that even if she doesn't do anything the 1st class she may get more comfortable as it goes on ( its a 15 week class - once a week)
