@sslm: I'm so sorry for your loss

After my natural miscarriage at 8 weeks, my dr advised to wait a cycle to be sure everything had passed through and we did, because I felt like I got pregnant and miscarried again, I would blame myself for not waiting. But I was desperate to get pregnant again and waiting was hard.

For us, it wound up being the doctor's decision instead of ours. After my first m/c at 9.5 weeks, we started trying again as soon as I got AF back. Got a BFP immediately again, but betas showed numbers were going up VERY slowly, and I started bleeding by around 5 weeks. This time they had me do some blood tests, and sent me to MFM (they wouldn't normally, but they thought the blood tests showed a clotting disorder. They didn't, but the MFM visit was good for me anyway just to get more information), and the MFM said to wait an extra month (for a total of two after AF came back) just to give my body some recovery time because they were in such quick succession. After my late loss we also started trying again as soon as we were cleared by a doctor. For me, I needed to move on and focus on the future, instead of the future I'd been planning that we'd lost.

I'm sorry for your loss. I had a similar experience and then had kind of a weird cycle right after. For that reason I might give myself a break if I were in your shoes. Fortunately for me I was blessed with my son in the cycle after the weird one. So in the end I wouldn't change anything. It was a couple of months before I felt ok emotionally so that was another reason the timing of my successful pregnancy worked out well- I was in a good place by then.

I'm so sorry for your loss  I think if you feel like taking some time off, you should...

I had an early m/c at 6 weeks. I was "lucky" in that I ovulated about 3 weeks later. We were NTNP but caught the egg and am now pregnant with a sticky bean. I found out I was pregnant a month after my m/c and my due date is about 5 weeks later than my original due date.

Good luck with whatever you decide!!

I am so sorry I was about 4 weeks with my first CP and 5 weeks with my second pretty much back to back with IUI
It is in your heart to make that choice...
Can you maybe get some blood work this next cycle to check progesterone after ovulation, and such? That might give you some info?

So sorry for your loss. I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks, but baby was measuring 6 (my dates were definitely correct, growth was slow). I waited for AF to return and got pregnant the following cycle. I'm now 31 weeks. (The Nurse-Midwife we saw after the m/c said wait "a few" cycles, but my OB said we could try after one AF).

Sorry for your loss. :(

I haven't had a miscarriage so far, but at 5 weeks did have bleeding and thought the lregnancy wasn't viable... Our plan was to wait a little while. I didn't feel very strong physically at the time though, and was going through other stress too.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I had a very early miscarriage at a little past 5 weeks, and we tried again asap. I'm 16 weeks now and so far so good. I think it's just what you feel comfortable with...I think with it happening so early on and naturally, you would be fine trying again right away.

@sslm: I am so sorry for your loss.
I am guessing you didn't have a D&C? I don't think there is anything to suggest you can't try right away after an early loss. For your own sanity and healing, maybe a month "off" is a good idea. My first loss was very early and, while we tried the next cycle, I either ovulated very late or had an anovulatory cycle.

I had an very early miscarriage before my daughter, our OB suggested we take a month off and we chose to follow her instruction. I knew that if we tried right away and then I miscarried again that I would blame myself for rushing things and I wouldn't have been able to handle that. We got a healthy pregnancy on the first try after taking a month off.

After my first miscarriage we tried again right away. We even got the go-ahead from my RE. I was only 4 1/2 weeks. I got pregnant that next cycle but miscarried again at 7 weeks. After that one we took a two month break because I needed it mentally and as it turned out, my cycle got all screwy for a few months too.

I'm so sorry  I suffered a miscarriage in November at 6 weeks, and for my sanity (at the time) I decided to try again right away. But the m/c did a number on my cycle and that stressed me out a lot. It took 4 cycles for us (I'm currently 8 weeks), and in hindsight I wish I would have waited and attempted to get my cycle back in order for a couple months. But who knows? Sometimes the best thing for heartache, at least for me, is to feel like I wasn't losing any more time. Hope you find the best choice for you and find your rainbow soon!

@hilsy85: that's kind of where I'm at right now. Originally we'd hoped to have kids 2 years apart and now we'll be lucky if we get 3 years. I have long and unpredictable cycles so I'm scared that if we wait we won't get another opportunity for 2+ months

So sorry for your loss :(

I think there is no right answer--it is just what feels right to you! If you feel like you need a month, take it. For me, after my M/C I felt like I needed to get pregnant ASAP in order to really move on (prob not the healthiest mindset, but that's what it was). So we started trying right away, as soon as I ovulated after my d&c. I just couldn't bear the thought of losing any more time.

What did you decide?

I just had a miscarriage last week, started spotting almost 2 weeks ago, hcg this past Thursday was "basically zero". I think I want to just try right away but what did other people do? I was only 5w when I started spotting.

With our first miscarriage I was almost 9w and we still tried right away but for some reason I'm feeling nervous this time.
