Definitely. Minus the teething hell week, he started waking up 1-2 a night instead of 5-6. Admittedly it takes a bit longer for him to fall asleep, but it's definitely worth it for the 5-6 (and this week 9-10) hour stretches.

We are going to try this tonight! LO wakes up EVERY HOUR and has to be nursed back to sleep. Guess we will start with bedtime and see what happens.

Absolutely! Which is why we're doing a bit of sleep/nighttime wake-up training as soon as LO and I get home from visiting my parents. And this is whishful thinking, but I really hope it helps with naps too.

Absolutely. We started doing this about a month ago and he went from waking up 2-5 times a night, to once or twice at the most. He is able to fall back asleep on his own now too, which is amazing :)

For sure!! When babies fall asleep on their own they're not waking up in the middle of the night thinking 'where did mommy/daddy go?'

Even now as an adult when I wake up and my husband has gone to the washroom or my pillow has fallen on the floor, my sleep gets disrupted.

Definitely. I think they need to fall asleep on their own and they always sleep better. Great job!

Yes!!! I just started this week and not sure yet if its falling asleep on her own v rocking, or crib now v co-bedding, but the first night she slept 3-hr blocks (instead of 2) and last night did almost 5, then almost 3, then 2, 2.

Will update after tonight too! :)

I think M is going through a sleep regression. It is KILLING us so, I've decided to do something about it. Yes, I. My husband is really good about letting me make the decisions and going along with them unless he's totally opposed. :)

Last night she did not want to go to sleep but 7pm is her bedtime. So, I put her in her crib at 7pm and sat in her room with her until she finally fell asleep at 7:15. She fussed, she cried, she held onto the bars of the crib and shook them. She flopped around like a drama queen. I sat in the rocking chair for a while, then I moved over and let her feel my presence and gave her my hand if she wanted to hold it.

I'm not sure if it's a coincidence or what but...she slept better last night. She slept from 7:15 - 12:30 and then to 4:30. She hasn't slept later than 10:30/11 in a month or so now. I think we're going to keep doing this at bedtime and see if it gets better/continues to help her sleep.

Has anyone else found that if you let your lo fall asleep on their own (not being rocked or nursed to sleep) that they sleep longer?
