I love my spectra. It has kept up my supply, I can pump quickly, and it is quiet.

I haven't used a Spectra, although I've heard very good things. I used my Freestyle for both kids and I absolutely love it. With DS2 I used Pumping Pals flanges, which was nice too.

One thing with the FS - do not microwave steam the parts. They warp and then you lose suction and it sucks. I handwashed mine, but kept 2 sets of parts to rotate. I kept them in a wet bag in the fridge and washed them every other day.

My LC recommended the Spectra this time, so that's what I went with. Baby isn't due until August, so I don't have experience with it just yet. I just know I trust her advice, and she's seen several patients have a lot of success with it.

I had a PISA last time, ended up disliking it and renting a Symphony for the last 5 months of pumping, and I got a Spectra this time. I like it so much that I actually bought another one to keep at home so I don't have to lug it back and forth when I want to do a work from home day.

I did buy a few items to try to hack some of my old medela parts onto the Spectra but they didn't work very well so I currently just use Spectra parts. The only thing I miss is that I can't use my Pumpin Pals flanges, which I found more comfortable than the ones that come with the pump.

I don't think FS parts are compatible with PISA, but they are easy find at Target, Walmart, etc.

I loved my FS. It was super convenient not needing an outlet.

I'm using a Spectra right now and I absolutely recommend it. I credit it with my supply staying like it has. I've had a dip but that comes with the age of my baby (for me, it's following the trajectory of my first baby) but I'm not having to do 4-5 pumps to get what I need like I did with my old Ameda.

I'm looking for pump advice again! :meh:

I'm trying to pick a pump through my insurance, and can get the PISA, Freestyle or Spectra all covered. I used the PISA to EP last time. Are the FS parts compatible with the PISA? I know I can hack the Spectra to fit my PISA parts. I haven't taken my PISA out of storage yet (on my list for this week, hopefully), so I'm not sure if I can even use the old one as a back up, or what the parts really look like.

I'll definitely need to use the pump at work and to build a supply before going back. Whether or not I EP (at least right away) will depend on if the baby takes to BFing.

What would you do? What did you use?
